1989 Toyota Pickup 2JZ SWAPPED
Description
This truck is laughable, but to be taken seriously. It currently boasts an estimated 350 hp and 350 ft/lbs torque from a twin turbo JDM supra engine, the 2JZ. The interior has been well preserved with the exception of the driver's seat fraying, and the exterior is all original paint, with no serious rust or damage. An ACT clutch and OEM toyota bell housing components adapt a rebuilt 'R154' manual 5 speed to the 2JZ. This extremely long engine/transmission combination forced the engine several inches forward, and transmission, about 6 inches back! Thus, the cooling system (a dual pass 30"x30" custom AFCO unit) has been mounted in the spare tire location under the bed. The truck sports an upgraded supra limited slip differential, but retains the rugged original solid axle. The suspension has been properly maintained and lowered, with belltech 2" drop spindles in the front and 3" drop springs in the rear. In addition, the front brakes were upgraded with modified corvette directional rotors and wilwood 4 pot calipers from Revolution Brake. The intake and exhaust systems are 100% tig welded mandrel bent aluminum and stainless. A turbonetics/spearco intercooler tucks well into the front bumper, and the exhaust exits out an oval in front of the real tire. It burbles down low and screams up high, like a 2J should! This real sleeper of a pickup does fantastic burnouts and is real joy to drive. There are no clearance issues, no cooling issues (but of course it takes 30 minutes to warm up), and the truck is well broken in, with a few hundred miles on the clock since completion. Please enjoy a few pictures of the brute! I will be happy to provide additional photos and details as requested. SOLD AS-IS - NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED, WRITTEN, OR OTHERWISE.
