Description

You are bidding on a rare chance to acquire 2 Toyota Crowns. Please read and contact me with any questions:

The white 1966 Toyota RS41 Crown Deluxe was acquired out of Washington State in 2015 without an engine or transmission. A completely rebuilt 3R 1.9-liter inline-four and 3-speed manual gearbox were subsequently installed after being sourced from a donor 1963 Toyota Crown that I had previously acquired (the work was performed by The Guild of Automotive Restorers in Canada. They are famous for their reality TV show). Approximately 400 miles have been added since the engine install was completed, and a new Optima battery was just added in preparation for the sale. This RS41 Crown Deluxe is now being offered with the 1963RS40 Crown parts car anda clear New Hampshire title in the seller’s name.

The white finish is original and shows areas of surface rust and a few dings (which I like to refer to as "patina". This finish cannot be replicated in any paint booth and is a testament to the longevity of the auto). Some of the blemishes have been highlighted in the gallery below. A new parking brake cable should be installed and one headlight high-beambulb is currently burnt out. A tear is present on the driver’s side of the front bench seat and center armrest (could be repaired in an upholstery shop to minimize the damage and retain the original interior). Wear is also visible on the front A-pillar upholstery, and the the speaker for the radio is currently no included (the dash speaker was sent out to be rebuilt but is not salvageable. The car has a single dash speaker so shouldn't be a problem to get a new replacement and wire up. The current disconnected wires can be seen hanging under the dash. They are strictly radio and speaker). Just under 55k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer and are original. The 3R 1.9-liter inline-four is paired with a 3-speed column-shifted manual gearbox, both of which were overhauled prior to the last 400 miles. They were sourced from the included 1963 Toyota Crown parts car shown below (I'm including the original car so that a purest might want to restore the original car with drive traininstead. Couldn't break up the original car). Collectors Choice high ZDDP engine oil has been used since the work was completed, and a new Optima Yellow Top battery was installed just prior to the auction. The 1963 Crown RS40 parts car was acquired in early 2015 as a stalled restoration project. $15,000 was spent restoring the 63 RS40 Crown. The body work was all done and new black paint sprayed. It does clean up nice however has been stored in a dusty barn (covered) for the last 3 years.

It is one of just 271 models reportedly sold new in North America. In addition to the missing drivetrain, much of the interior and pieces of the exterior trim arealso missing. Any included parts are stored in the trunk as shown in the gallery below. They are included in the saleto the winning bidder, however, the car is not titled and offered on a bill of sale only.

This is your rare chance to own a fully running and fantastic crown and a project Crown. I was honestly going to drop a 2JZ Engine in the black crown, air bag it and convert the front to disc brakes.. I also saw this model with an LT1 V8. It's not too difficult and parts are readily available. I will attempt to put youtube links of the drive and photobucket links however I'm not tech saavy. I have over 135 photos. Feel free to contact me for more info. Please don't ask the reserve. Just bid to win and best of luck. If they don't sell, I certainly won't be relisting as to be quite honest, I don't want to sell in the first place. I can't keep them and feat they will go to waste if the right home is not found. Please be a responsible caretaker and have an interest in preserving history.

I will help with loading the cars for shipping. They are located in Conway, NH.
