Description

* 1984 TOYOTA CAMRY LE SEDAN * * Time Capsule Condition !! * * Automatic, 4 Cylinder * * Full Power, COLD AC * * ONLY 64K Actual Miles !! * * NO RESERVE Auction !! *

Before you and up for bid at NO RESERVE is my 1984 TOYOTA CAMRY LE Sedan. The history and particulars of the Camry are as follows:
* On 08/13/84, Ronald Kelly traveled from his home in Le Mars, Iowa to Weatherford Toyota, in Weatherford, Texas. It was there that he took delivery of the Camry you see before you. At that time, the Toyota Camry was in its first full year of availability in the United States, and as such, these Japanese manufactured cars were in short supply. Texas is where Ron had to go to secure one. At the time of delivery, Ron was 59 years of age.
* This Camry LE would be Ron's car for the next 30 years. In 2014, the car was bequeathed to a family member who took it to South Dakota. Ron would go on to his reward in 2015. The car was then sold in South Dakota where it remained until February of 2016 when it was up for auction here on eBay.
* The car was subsequently sold to a man by the name of Bryan Thompson. Perhaps his name rings a bell, for Bryan is an automotive designer who resides in Los Angeles. At the time of the sale, the car had approximately 58K miles. In 3 years, it has now traveled an additional 6K miles. (South Dakota to LA, LA to Florida)
* Bryan is also a contributing writer to Hemming's Motor News. He wrote an article about this very Camry in April of 2016. A link to that article is below:http://www.hemmings.com/blog/2016/04/12/inside-the-box-where-weve-been-meets-where-were-going/
* The Camry was in his possession until mid-2018, whereby I purchased it here in Florida.
* As a former dealer principle, I have an affinity for the U.S. market, Japanese production automobiles, as these cars were significant in automotive history.
* CARFAX certified NO Accident history report is in hand which documents the history of the car. Carfax reports not actual mileage when it was titled to the original owners family after being passed to them in Iowa. South Dakota did not record any mileage. However, when Bryan Thompson titled it in California in 2016, the mileage was correctly recorded as actual, just as it is recorded as actual, here in Florida. Given the entirety of the cars condition, I have no misgivings that the mileage is original to the car.
* It is evident that the Camry has been "loved", a garaged and pampered non-smoker.
* Other than items that necessitated replacement given to time, safety or wear, the Camry is all original.
* The car has had one repaint, it shows very well with excellent reflection. (see pics) There is slight checking on the hood. There are stone chips that have been touched up as well as what looks to be fume coloration and repair to the paint in the area of the fuel door.
* Factory two-tone paint, Red Metallic/ Beige Metallic. This is the featured color in the sales brochure.
* LE trim level, which was the top of the line. The car is equipped with every option available in 1984, except the power moonroof.
* MSRP in 1984 was $13,668, and they did not discount them.
* The interior is in excellent condition. I rate it a 9 out of 10. It breaks down accordingly:
Upholstery: The driver seat bottom has a repaired mar, it is approximately the size of an eraser head. The driver seat left bolster has an approx. 2" wear mark on the piping from exiting the vehicle. (see pic)
The passenger seat is in excellent condition with no wear or seam separations. The rear seat looks equally amazing, it appears to have never been sat upon.
* The carpets, front and back are in excellent condition, no stains or wear. All 4 original Toyota mats are in very good condition.
* The headliner is in excellent condition.
* The dash is perfect, there are NO cracks.
* There is no age wear to any of the plastic interior components.
* All 4 door panels are in excellent condition (see pics)
* Excellent sun visors and console, the lid opens and closes properly as does the separate storage and glove compartment(s).
* All electronic features are fully operational:
* Power windows from the main driver door location and each door.* Power locks are all fully operational
* Cruise control is fully operational, main switch and settings
* The ETC selection for the transmission with the overdrive and its dash display is fully functional.
* All gauges and function monitoring displays are fully operational, including the unique fuel gauge.
* ICE COLD AC, amazingly, this is the original AC that the car was "born with". The factory fittings are still present on the hoses.
* All ventilation switches move freely and are fully functional, heat, defrost, fresh air vents, etc.
* All lights are fully operational: dash, hi/low beams, turn signals, reverse, running, brake, interior dome and map
* The Toyota factory AM/FM/Cassette radio w/equalizer and amplifier is fully operational with all displays. There is no speaker distortion. The power antenna fully extends and retracts upon turning the key on/off, or by powering the radio on/off.
* The lighter outlet is operational (phone)
* Wipers and washer, fully operational
* Hood, trunk and fuel door releases are all operable
* Seats move freely forward/back and fully recline, driver side lower back adjustment
* There is no wear to any of the writing on the buttons, knobs, or stalks, all are legible
* Excellent steering wheel, NO cracks or wear, horn is operable
* The seat belts are in excellent condition, front and rear. NO stains or fraying.
* All weather stripping and gaskets are soft and pliable. The window channels are not cracked.
* All glass is original to the car including the windshield, the windows have a nice 3M metal base tint.
* The engine is original to the car. It is a TOYOTA 2S-E. This is a fuel injected, 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder, 92 horsepower engine. Surprisingly, it has ample get up and go while returning Toyota rated 31 mpg city, and 43 mpg hwy. At the time, this was the highest rated fuel efficiency mileage vehicle sold in America. There are NO annoying drips of leaks.Recent service included: new belts, hoses, filters, fresh fluids.
* The automatic transmission is a 4-speed w/overdrive. It shifts smoothly throughout and into reverse.
The engine compartment presents very nicely, clean and tidy.
Nice grill, no breaks
All manufacturer and model designation emblems are present
Additional recent service included a brake service (pads, flush) and 4 new tires.
Toyota factory alloy wheels and center caps in good condition, no curb rash, there are minor nicks to the plastic coating
The original space saver spare, jack and tire tool w/pouch are included. The trunk and the carpeting are very clean.
Toyota rust proofing
Original window sticker, owners manual and sales brochure will accompany the sale.
The Camry is very clean throughout, there are no odors.
At 36 model years of age, this Camry is a classic automobile, and in remarkable condition! Everywhere it goes it garners nice compliments, as you simply do not see these cars any longer. It transports one back to a time where function and practicality were the order of the day, and Toyota's bullet proof reputation was well on its way to being established.
Outside of routine maintenance, one could easily drive this Camry for 100K miles without blinking an eye. It is cliche', but they simply do not make them like this anymore.
The car starts, idles, runs, drives and stops entirely as one would expect from a 64K mile Toyota automobile from this era that was built in Japan.
Offered at true NO RESERVE. $19.84 gets the party started. I'll leave it to the eBay buyers to determine its value. Without question, it's a unicorn, you tell me what it's worth.
You are bidding to purchase the Camry, not to be the first to look at it. Thank you.
Inspections are welcome and will be facilitated to the best of my ability prior to the auction concluding.
Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid.
Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet or MAGIC 8-BALL, prior to placing your bid, as I am not running a clinic for the confused. Thank you.
The Camry and I are presently located in the Naples/Ft. Myers vicinity. (Cape Coral)
Delivery and transportation are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
I am confident that the Camry could be driven home safely to anywhere in America. If you are to fly in and drive home, I will gladly pick you up at the S.W. Florida International Airport in Ft. Myers, or the regional airport in Punta Gorda.
Delivery is possible within the lower 48 states for $1000.00. I own a Hodges transport and upon the sale of the Camry, will be traveling home to Colorado. I do not wish to travel to distances that deviate greatly from my direction, though we can discuss this.
If you secure your own transport carrier, I will coordinate with and assist that shipper.
The Camry is being sold at NO RESERVE. A $1000.00 initial payment is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close via PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS.
The balance is due and payable within 7 days thereafter under condition and arrangement made between myself and the buyer.
The balance is to be paid via a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, as it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties.
If you choose to fly in and drive home, I will accept cash for the balance provided that it has been addressed within the 7 days of auction close window.
I DO NOT accept PayPal for the entire purchase, only the initial $1000.00 payment.
The Camry and the title to the Camry will not be released until payment in full has been received. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will overnight via FEDEX, the title and bill of sale to the new owner.
If you are to fly in and drive home, I will offer the option of hand delivering these documents to you upon your arrival.
I require that the winning bidder contact me by phone within 24 hours of auction close to discuss further arrangements.
If you are "new" to ebay, have 0% feedback, excessive negative feedback, or less than 10 transactions, you will need to CALL ME prior to placing your bid and express your intentions. If you do not call me prior, your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from further bidding. This is to preserve the integrity of the auction. These auctions cost money, but more importantly time. I will not waste your time, please do not waste mine.
Clear Florida title in my name.
I am not a dealer, I am a collector/hobbyist. Since 2007, I have sold more than 25 of my personal vehicles through eBay. Nearly all have had their expectations exceeded. Where collector vehicles are concerned, condition is open to interpretation. I have represented the Camry honestly and accurately.
Given the age of the Camry, by bidding you acknowledge your understanding that the car is being sold in "as is" condition, with no expressed, written or otherwise implied warranties.
I reserve the right to cancel the listing at any time should the car become no longer available.
Buyers from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand are welcome and encouraged to bid with confidence.
If the Camry is sold to an international buyer, I am available with my aforementioned transport to get the car to the requisite port for reasonable expenses.
eBay provides for only 24 pictures. I have selected pictures that best present a concise overview of the car. If you would like any area specific pictures, simply request them.
I answer my phone quicker than I respond to e-mail. If you have any questions, call me directly. If you reach voice mail, leave a brief message along with a contact number, and I will return your call promptly.
If you would like to discuss a "buy it now", call me and present your offer. DO NOT call and ask me, "what's the lowest that you'll take?"
This is a classic Toyota Camry that won't break the bank to own. Drive it daily, preserve it, "cars and coffee" it...as it's unlikely anyone else is going to have one there. It would make for a unique UBER.
Thanks for looking, check out the Hemming's article too, and good luck when you bid!
