1992 Toyota Camry LE V6 3.0L
Description
This car I must say was taken care of extremely well. There are no rips or tears in the upholstery (front or back). The paint is in fair to good condition. Just needs a good wax job I believe but hey I'm bias lol. Now the not so good news. Tags are good till September 2016 (actually that's good news). We just bought this car about 9 days ago. Went to smog it and found out the catalytic converter is missing (ikr). Well it's about 200 new and legal in california (there are cheaper ones but not legal in california so double check your purchase or let a shop do it). Might cost 100 to install maybe? I was quoted by the mechanic at the smog place that for under 500 they would install a new one (converter ), fix a vacuum switch, re -smog ensure it passes, and issue the smog cert. It's really a good deal just more than my budget can handle now. The a/c needs a recharge at the least (haven't checked for leakes and the compressor is operational and not seized up). So the deal with that is 1992 a/c's used R12 refrigerant or freon. That's not legal anymore because of air quality regs. So either it is retro fitted for R134 or I read there is a refrigerant equivalent to R12 and wouldn't require modifications. Haven't checked into that so can't say ya or nae on it. I plan to clean the egr valve, throttle body and put back window on track this weekend if I still have it. The right-side rear seat belt is released all the way. I think the spring is broken. No leaks that I can see. Runs strong, fast and solid. Transmission is ok, I'm sure it could use a service though in the future. Spent almost 200 doing inspections, transfer fees, getting a temp sticker good through July 31 2016. (By then it must be smog ready). I'm telling you all this because it wasn't told to us. Not that the guy willing left info out but things weren't made clear. Live long and prosper
