Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that... I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the 70+ photos carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is an exceptionally clean 1991 Toyota Truck SR-5. I would rate the exterior of this truck to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. If you follow my auctions, you'll know that I rarely give the "excellent" rating to any vehicle. I reserve that for the most exceptional examples...and this truck surely deserves it. As you can see, this is a beautiful truck. It is finished in dark red over gray cloth interior, which is a good color combination. The dark red finish shines nicely and looks smooth all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. However, you'd be hard pressed to find much worth complaining about as you walk around the exterior of this truck. There is rust on both cab extensions, with a hole along the bottom of the left one. There is also some rust visible right above the tail pipe. The left running board has come off, but is included with the truck so you can repair it and have an original matching set. All in all, this truck stands head and shoulders above most older Toyota trucks and is a testement to the care in ownership this truck has recieved. Everything about this truck is period correct. It has the factory running boards and still sports the factory mud flaps. Even the front brush guard is an OE Toyota Accessory piece and is in excellent condition. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The bed is coated with a protective material, which has preserved it beautifully. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin's with good tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this truck. I would also rate the interior of this Toyota SR-5 to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets look brand new throughout the interior. The upgraded cloth seats come as a part of the SR-5 package and look brand new. This truck came with a sun blocker for inside the windshield and a protective dash mat, which has probably everything to do with how nice the interior is. Both will be included with the truck, as are a full set of floor mats. The original tape deck has been upgraded with a full sized CD player that is Bluetooth and Satellite Radio capable. The install is beautiful, looks factory, and sounds great. The climate control system also is working properly. The heater works well and the air conditioner still blows ICE COLD AIR! Behind the front seats, the rear area is just as clean as the front. The seat bottoms fold up and there is storage underneath. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this rare truck! Mechanically, this Toyota runs and drives as good as it looks. The 3.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The optional V6 makes good power and feels smooth. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are clean and precise, as they should be. The 4WD system is tested and working properly. If you're reading this, you know exactly how capable and long lasting these trucks are when you take care of them...and this one has obviously been very, very well taken care of. I purchased it from the Toyota dealership who traded it on a new Toyota truck. The oil change service sticker in the windshield is a Toyota dealer service sticker. On the timing cover is a factory service marking showing the timing belt done by the Toyota dealership at 263k miles!!! If you had any previous reservations about buying this truck, they should be gone now. In case they're not, it appears as if this Toyota has also had its frame replaced (judging from the smoothness of the frame rails and the still legible factory stencil markings on each frame rail). If you're in the market for a high quality vintage Toyota truck, don't let this one slip through your fingers. It is in remarkable condition, fully serviced, and every single thing works. My dad bought one of these brand new in '94. It's what I learned to drive stick in and I bought it from him in '96...so I've always had a special affection for these trucks. If I had the name and address of the previous owner, I'd drive it to his house and shake his hand and thank him for his meticulous time and care spent owning this truck and keeping it how it should be. I hope her next owner is a fellow enthusiast who will respect this truck just as much. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
