Up for sale is a One Owner 1986 Toyota 4Runner 4WD with 66,000 Original Miles!!! This highly sought after, first generation Toyota 4Runner, runs and drives great. The well known 2.4L four cylinder engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts easily through the gears as it should. The heat and AC both work. The suspension still feels great as it was always gently driven and never taken off road. The interior is in good condition (the front seats were re-upholstered about 10 years ago) and the exterior still has the original factory paint. This car has never been in an accident and was always well maintained with regular oil changes and tune ups. The brakes stop perfectly with no shake or shudder and the tires are in excellent condition as well.
I'm selling this for my dad, who is a retired city bus driver … the last thing he wanted to do on his days off was drive. Also, being an MTA employee, he rides the bus and train for free (both a block from his house) and he always preferred to take public transportation for the short trips he would take. This car was driven on a regular but limited basis … usually to do the weekly groceries, shopping, or errands.
It has NEVER been off-road and the removable top has NEVER been removed.
Known issues: The car was broken into years ago and my dad replaced the small rear window with plexiglass (don’t ask). The shift lever is loose and has some play. The catalytic converter was removed. There are 2 cracks in the top of the dashboard (probably from the sun over the years) Rear bumper is slightly bent on the drivers side. There are a few rust spots here and there … especially where the chrome trimming meets the front fender on the drivers side. Despite any of that, this car is in remarkable condition for its age and needs nothing except for a new driver.
All original parts except for the seats I mentioned earlier which were reupholstered, the starter solenoid, the radio (with CD player) and speakers which were upgraded, the drivers side mirror, and the brake pedal cover.
Battery, Brakes Pads, Rotors, and Tires, were all replaced within 6 months of taking the car off the road.
The only reason for selling, is after all these years, my dad decided to live a little and leased a new car.
Don't let it slip away as it will be very rare for you to EVER see another like it with this low mileage again.
