1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60
Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my 1984 FJ60. This FJ has been absolutely phenomenal to own and enjoy. I've owned this Land Cruiser for about a year now and have enjoyed every minute of it. This FJ was purchased new in the northwest US. Myfriend and his family were on a snow skiing trip to Washington state when he saw it in a fellows yard for sale. My friend ended up buying it and drove it all the way back from Washington state to Saltillo, MS. He owned it for about a decade and finally agreed to sell it to me last year. The only reason that I'm selling it is because I just bought a 71 FJ40, so it's time for me to move on.
This FJ has never been in an accident and has been enjoyed by very responsible people all ofits life. The gentleman that my friend bought it from was in his 70s and it had very lowmiles on it at the time. For ten years, my friend drove it back and forth to work whichwasabout 60 miles each way. Thats where the high mileage came from. I asked him about itevery time I saw him and always wanted it. I thought it was very rare to see one in Sky Blue. I had a Dune Beige oneseveral years ago and noticed that practically everyone I saw was either beige or silver. He stopped driving the car due to the power steering pump going bad, so it had been sitting for about a year before I convinced him to sell it to me. Before I started driving it, we took thetop end apart and replaced all gaskets and cleaned the top of the pistons. It all looked to be in very good shape for its age, so we put it back together without rebuilding the bottom end. I replacedeverything that I could find that was showing signs of wear. I replaced the power steering pump with a new one and also replaced the alternator with a new one. There was also a leak from the transfer case that we fixed by replacing thegasket where the transmission meets the case. I rebuilt the carburetor, cleaned up the engine bay, and replaced the battery. Of course, I also replaced the plugs, plug wires, and several vacuum lines (every line that was brittle). With all of that, it has been perfectly reliable and has never given me any trouble. There is absolutely no rust to be found anywhere. I did have it undercoated and blacked out underneath just to seal and coat everything. The exterior was repainted the original color by a shop in Tupelo, MS and it looks great for its age. There are a few spots that I touched up with Sky Blue touchup paint, but all in all it looks great and it gets compliments practically every time I drive it. The interior is extremely clean, but there is a stain in the passengers side floor board and one small one in the floor under the bench seat in the back. There is one nick in the A pillar on the head liner. It has about an inch and a half cut. Itisn't big and not that noticeable, but it is there. I put astitch in it so itwouldn't spread further. This was done when I had the windshield replaced. All other glass is original. I just put all new BFGoodrich tires all round and they ride surprisingly well. It is very comfortable and sturdy feeling. Absolutely everything works just as it should and thereisn't anything that I know of that it needs. Please lookthrough the pictures below anddon't let the mileage scare you. This is an excellent FJ60 that is sure to make the next owner veryhappy.
