Built fro 1960 through 1984, Toyota produced the J40 series of off-road vehicles. It was a traditional body-on-frame SUV. It was highly popular then as it is now, competing with Jeep and Scouts. It was produced in a multitude of different body configurations, both shorter and longer wheel bases along with different engine configurations. This specific Hy-Brid of sorts was meticulously pulled apart and put back together over the course of seven years and over 4,000 hours using nothing but... the best of all Land Cruiser. The body is a 1974 FJ40 re-painted to its original Nebula Green which is in near perfect condition. This particular vehicle before restoration spent its life in Newfoundland where they do not use salt so the body was good to start with. The engine is a 3B, 3.4 Liter Diesel engine out of a BJ70 series mated to a 1984 H55F 5-speed manual transmission, a BJ70 rear axle, BJ60 knuckes and power steering pump. It uses the wiring harness converted to 12Volts out of a 1980 BJ40 as well as manual glow plugs from the same BJ40. It utilizes much more comfortable seats out of a 60-series that are in excellent condition. Brand new 31" BFG mud terrains finish this beauty off. Every nut and bolt has been touched on this truck and it has not seen off-road or even rain since its completion. When the body was done, every panel was pulled including window and door frames separated, blasted, epoxied and welded back together....The floors and undercarriage were coated with raptor tinted Nebula green. The paint is base clear coat that is stunning. This Land Cruiser has also just had a brand new blue tooth stereo with amp and speakers installed. This is not a vehicle that has had a paint job over some half hearted restoration. This thing is done and everything works exactly how it is supposed to. I have all of the receipts and photo journal of restoration, besides the FJ speaks for itself and we have not seen anything like this truck ever. This FJ starts, runs and drives beautifully and is ready for anything you have in mind.
