Hello and thank you for looking. Long story as short as I can make it.
History:
We bought this Land Cruiser from the original owners approximately three years ago, from the Reno area of Nevada, where it was sold originally and purchased in Reno. They apparently used it mostly on weekends as they loved exploring the mountainsand mining. We have a copy of the original Title, and we have photos of the Land cruiser when we purchased it, before we started the restoration. All VIN Numbers matching– Title, Door Jamb, Engine Compartment and Frame.
There is more to the story but that's the outline. The Australian plate was for fun - it is registered in Arizona and has a Arizona Plate.
The last photo shows it’s a honest, clean, and complete FJ40 that was a perfect candidate for a full restoration.
As you will see in that before restoration photo - it was pretty much all there, in original condition with uncut fenders- but almost 40 years later from newit was in need of an overhaul.
The body was removed and media blasted down to bare metal - the rear sill area was replaced with new - it was primed and painted in the original Freeborn Red with PPG premium single stage paint. The frame was cleaned and coated with POR 15.
Mechanical Work: All work was performed at a local Toyota dealership witha reputation of specializing in older Land Cruisers.
