VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Up for auction is a 1970 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser in exceptionally good condition. This FJ40 does not have any of the typical rust-through issues (ie inside the door sills, front driver and passenger floor pans, floor pan section near rear tailgate doors, rear quarter panels, front wheel wells). All of these areas are in very good condition. There is only surface rust. About 95% original except for shock absorbers, Holley carburetor, re-upholstered seats and headliner. As best as I can tell it has only had 3 owners and has been kept indoors most of its life. Starts up easily and runs solid and strong.

Note: Please remember this is a used vehicle, its not perfect. It would be a great daily driver or a perfect candidate for a beautiful restoration. Look at the photos, I have pointed out any problem areas the best that I can.

ENGINE & FUEL SYSTEM

Engine: 1970 F (3.9 Liter), In-line 6-Cylinder, 125 hp (mileage unknown)

New spark plugs and high-performance plug wires

Holley Carburetor & Airfilter

FRAME & UNDERCARRIAGE

Straight, clean, and in excellent condition with only surface rust.

DRIVETRAIN & SUSPENSION

Transmission, transfer case and both differentials were checked for proper function and all fluids were drained and replaced

Recently replaced shock absorbers (Front & Rear)

Shifting and functioning of all gears is smooth and solid

EXTERIOR

Original paint in good condition. Some minor scratches.

The undercarriage is original unpainted with only surface rust

The left rear quarter panel has minor damage to the lower edge (see pic)

Fiberglass roof had a couple of minor cracks and these were repaired with fiberglass patches and then sanded, sealed and painted.

INTERIOR

Headliner replaced with commercial indoor/outdoor carpeting

New dash pad cover

Complete tool set, bottle jack, crank extension bars and handle

Note: Drivers side window rolls up/down but does not always stay up

Door seals are intact but showing some wear

Speedometer/Odometer not working

Rear heater installed. Has wiring harness but not installed and also hoses not installed.

Wipers not functioning but windshield washer pump turns on

Aftermarket ignition and key
Do not have door keys

BRAKES

New brake shoes, Front & Rear

New brake master cylinder

Brakes were completely bled and re-adjusted

COOLING

Most hoses replaced recently

System has been fully flushed and refilled

ELECTRICAL

New battery (Duralast 24F-DL 750CC)

New spark plugs and wires

Charging system, lights and turn signals in good working condition

WHEELS & TIRES

Good Tires (1/4” + tread) (Centennial Canyon Climber LT235 75R15)

New steering knuckle boots

Stock Wheels (sand blasted and repainted) – OEM 15”

Spare tire in very good condition

Recently replaced muffler and tailpipe

Remaining balance due within 7 days of auction close and can be paid via certified U.S. bank/cashiers check, or cash (in person). Vehicle is sold as is, with no implied warranties.
