Description

Reserve lowered!!! Come on folks this car runs and drives. You will not find another 1st gen. Celica for the price I'm willing to let this one go for. My reserve is set very reasonable.
Any questions please call or text 479-414-4264.
I hate to sell it but I'm afraid the time has come. To many projects and I hate to see this one set on the back burner when it needs to be enjoyed by someone who also has a passion for older Japanese cars.
1974 Toyota Celica GT that runs and drives great. Gets a lot of attention at local cars and coffee meets and there's always somebody who has a story about one from their past. It sat for awhile before I aquired it. I have spent quite a bit of money and alot of time getting it to it's current condition and it's never failed to start or left me stranded. I'll list the things thats been fixed or replaced as well as what it could use in the future.
Good/new stuff
New Plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, coil, front brake calipers, brake pads, rotors, hydraulic brake lines, brake light switch, slave cylinder, clutch master cylinder, rag joint, freshly rebuilt 2 barrel carburetor, used rust free fuel tank and new fuel pump.
I ran a new return line because the original was completely clogged. The feed line is still the original but it has some gunk coming through it. I have to clean out the fuel filter every so often. I have enough new metal fuel line to run a new feed and I'll include it with the car. All the original gauges work. Has new 2.25 inch exhaust ran the length of the car with a cheap ebay muffler that actually sounds pretty good. New cheap wheels and new hankook tires that have less than 300 miles on them.
The bad or what will need attention:
The weather stripping is all shot so it does leak some water in the rain. Rear brakes have not been looked at at all. I'm not sure if the heater or windshield wipers work. Haven't tried either one. The previous owner sanded on the trunk and never covered the bare metal up causing the rust spots you see in the pictures. The inside of the trunk has a spot that has rusted through and it's also visible in the pictures. The majority of the trunk floor has some surface rust but it's still very solid. Rear quarter windows will need to be rebuilt to be able to roll them down.
The floors had some rubber plugs that rotted and rusted around the holes. I used sheet metal and epoxy to fix them (see pictures) overall the floors are very solid and in good shape.
At idle the oil pressure drops to about 5 or 6 psi. When you give it gas it shoots up to 35 or 40 psi. I've put close to 300 miles on it and it's never made any strange noises or gave me any reasons to believe the engine is starving for oil. It does smoke some at start-up like maybe the valve seals are worn. Also for some reason one of the new brake pads on the drivers side rattles.
I hope I got everything but if you have and questions feel free to ask. The car isn't perfect but it is a running driving TA22 that you can drive just about anywhere. I wouldn't drive it across the country but i have ran errands all over town in it several times with no issues.
Thanks for looking!
