Description

This is one of the hardest to find of all Iron Pigs. Has factory Air conditioning. All air parts are present but will need hoses and hooked up. This is a very special rig. It was set up in the late 70's and 80's to be an expedition vehicle. Feature include a custom built 46 gallon fuel tank. all looks and ignition are custom coke machine type looks to help prevent theft. has heavy duty shackles and an added on rear a/c unit to keep it extra cool. The original Owner took this rig down Baja California and all over the desert of new mexico, arizonaand where ever he wanted. I am now the 3rd owner. The second owner bought it and let it set for 20 years.I bought it with the idea of theperfect bug-out vehicle. I went thru the gas lines, all new fluids, some cleaning and gathering up some parts that it was missing. I added the wheels and new 33x12.50 15 tires. They Have maybe 500 miles on them. It drives very well. has the original straight 6 in it. No smoke orknocks to the motor. All 4 gears and reverse work fine, as well as the clutch.

This Fj55 came factory with disc front brakes. and A?C the only iron pig harder to find than this one is a 1979 with a/c and power steering. Although while driving it, it doesn't steer too hard unless you are sitting still turning those big tires, but moving and turning isn't hard at all.

Body and paint, The body is very straight, only one dent in the corner by the rear window pictured. Most rust in pics is only surface rust. It has never been repainted so you can see it's entire life thru the story of it's original paint. I myself like the patina it has. But has a few small holes that could use fixing in the inner door jams into the outer floors by the doors. and some rust holes in the lower front fenders. Drip rail and most of the body is very nice and solid. Would be an easy restoration candidate if you wanted to.

I have all the drip rail chrome that this one came with. it will need new clips for them to be installed.

Interior: The headliner is no good. it is there but torn in a few spots. the rear seat is original and not torn up needs a good cleaning. The front seats were installed by the second owner, but I have a nice original bench in theoriginal vinyl to go with it. All original rubber mats are in place. all original door panels in place.

Motor: It is the original motor with all factory equipment in place. original carb and air cleaner and exhaust. I will include a header and weber carb upgrade kit to got with it if you want them.

Glass: all glass is good but the windshield has a few rock chips and is cloudy around the edge. No Cracks though. the rear power window works but goes up and down slowly.

No radio installed, had a cb and winch installed but are not on it now.

I'm only selling because we have a baby on the way and buying something newer to haul a baby in.

Walk around video with it running. https://youtu.be/SUeDcn9qSZQ

Forgot to add that it is set up correctly for dual batteries.Added pics of the frame that is solid with only surface rust and no cracks. Up above I said it was set up with coke machine style looks, was supposed to say Locks and ignition. Thanks and thank you for your interest.
