Description

1965 Triumph Spitfire 4 MK 1

VIN # FC40928L

Miles: 129,027

I purchased this car on EBay about 3 years ago. I purchased the car with the intention of doing a rolling restoration since the car runs and drives fairly well, just showing cosmetic wear. Unfortunately I don't drive the car often andit simply sits in my climate controlledgarage but does get started and moved on a monthly basis. It doesn't look like I'll have any time to tinker with in the near future, so its time to let it go to a new home.

Here's what I can tell you about the car:

Body: its actually very solid underneath, the floors appear to be original and without rust.Radius arm pickupsin the rear are very solid as well as the trunk floor. It looks like it has had outer rockers installed along with heavy seam sealer on the joints installed at some point in its life. The paint shows wear with plenty of nicks chips and a few dings. The trim, chrome and rubber are all driver quality, not perfect but not an eye sore either. It does have a factory Metal hardtop. The soft top was shot and tossed but it still has the soft top bows.

Interior: It has a set of the GT6 seats installed, I do not have the original seats. It also has a roll bar installed/ bolted in. Shows wear but complete and usable. Doors open and shut, about like most MKI's. Glass rolls up and down fine and with a few scratches. Glass and door gaskets show age-wear. Has Lap belts but unsure of age.

Electric Functionality: Park lamps, turn signals, brake lights, hor, heater and wipers all functioning. High and low beam headlamps currently not working ( Iwilllook into it this weekend) Original Triumph AM Radio does not work.

Drivetrain: It runs and drives well. The motor has a fair amount of seeps and grease-oil residue. Its definitely a driver quality car. It does have an exhaust leak, not loud but its there. Other than that no real issues or anything that stands out as needing immediate attention. I did install a new master cylinder and changed the oil. Tires DO NOT have any dry rot and very minimal wear, date coded 2009.

Overall this car is ready to drive and could use some attention to some mechanical wear and cosmetics if wanted. I believe it would be a great car to tinker with, enjoy and drive as you go. Or a great full restoration candidate.

Clean and clear KY title in my name. Inspections are encouraged and welcome in Louisville, Ky. 40059 . I have several contacts for US enclosed-open shipping as well as international container shipping and would be glad to share those contacts and help organize shipping if needed.
