Description

Absolutely gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, French Blue Triumph Spitfire 1500. This car has recently gone through a complete restoration with many high performance modifications. She only has less than 800 miles on her since the restoration. As you can see in the pictures it has the original 1500cc engine however just about everything has been upgraded. The engine comes with Quad Keihin CR racing motorcycle carburetors mounted on custom manifolds professionally designed and built for this car. It has a stainless steel header with a Monza Quad Tip exhaust, custom designed and built in America cross-flow radiator, high capacity oil cooler. The engine has been rebuilt with a modest race cam, big valves, ported and polished head and 10 to 1 compression with flat top pistons. The estimated horsepower is around 100hp and she runs great with premium gas. It has an all digital/electronic distributor and ignition. The transmission is factory OEM 4-speed with electronic over-drive, both have been rebuilt. She can cruise at 70mph all day long but have had the car to 100mph and it was still climbing. The wheels are 14" aluminum MiniLite replicas made in Germany with General Altimax radials. Comes with a full size spare tire exactly like the other 4. Front rotors are drilled and slotted disk and rear drums have been rebuilt and braided stainless brake lines...this car stops amazingly. All the suspension components are new with synthetic bushings and KYB shocks in front and Monroe Adjustable in back. New drive shaft and u-joints. The rear end was inspected and found to be in great shape. Brand new gas tank, fuel sender and electric fuel pump with emergency fuel shut off in case of collision.
Interior has been completely Dynamatted and sound proofed including the roof of the hardtop. New carpets, custom floor mats made in France, custom center console includes a cup holder, storage compartment and 2 12volt jacks built in. Burl wood dash is just gorgeous. Seat covers and cushions are new. Brand new carpet kit. Headliner is new. The tach is electronic and has been rebuilt as well as the speedo. There are switches mounted in the dash for the hidden Hella running lights behind the grill, windshield washer and trunk lights. It has a brand new never installed tan convertible top with the folding frame in beautiful condition. I prefer the hardtop as they are very rare. The trunk has been Dynamatted and has new fiberboard sections and carpeting. The trunk is also illuminated with lamps operated by a dash switch. The car runs beautifully, the newly cushioned-seats are very comfy.
Although the engine may lead you to think it is a rough idling race car it purrs like a kitten at idle and accelerates smoothly.
Ok here's a couple items to point out, yes like all British Sportscars it does drip a little oil after driving. My pro Britsh car tech. has pulled the motor twice and replaced the seals but the car insists on a little drip. The other thing to point out is while the car is rust free their a few tiny rust through spots in the floor under the seats. They are so insignificant I just had the spots treated and Dynamatted over the top of them.
There is also a pea sized chip in the driver door which I will have repaired by my painter before sale.
