This authentic TR8 is originally from South Carolina. The car has been re-sprayed with a very good to excellent paint job. There is no evidence of bodywork or damage. The seats have been reupholstered and the car has almost new carpets and convertible top.
All the Lucas gremlins have been eliminated. Car has all new relays, all electrical connections cleaned. New parts include:
-Ignition switch
-Turn/Dim/Horn switch
-Oil pressure switch
-Rear brakes
-Accelerator cable
-High torque/gear reduction starter (half the weight and size of original starter)
-Exhaust headers and custom exhaust
-Custom air cleaner with “dual ram-air” intake
-14” Hayden electric fan replacing original convoluted fans.
-15” x 7” alloy wheels.
I have a photocopy of the previous U.S. title and Canadian importation documentatio, which should simplify importing and re-registering it in the U.S.
Triumph manufactured only 2,748 TR8s of which 400 were coupes. The TR8 is powered by a Rover 3.5 Liter V8. The TR8 was seen as being the salvation for Standard-Triumph and were built to a higher standard than earlier TR7s. This car runs very strong and is totally reliable.
It is estimated only 1,000 TR8 convertibles exist today. This car will only appreciate in value. The car is currently in hibernation. Car doesn't have to be picked up and can stay stored until the weather improves (i.e. spring) if buyer wishes.
The only reason I am selling the car is at age 73 my knees aren’t working the best. I would love to keep it.
