1971 VW Volkswagon baja beetle bug offroad street
Description
1971 vw street/offroad baja bug.
Has a great 80s feel and super rad!
Runs, drives, and stops but needs to be gone through and maintenanced. It appears all and all solid with a lot of improvements but was last tagged for street use in in '06. Runs but could benefit from further tuning. Front tires are new (no miles) and rear are oversized with plenty of tread. It has front and rear brush guard bumpers including rear engine cage and side nerf guards. motor is a 1600cc dual port. 5spd trans. brakes have less than approximately 1000 miles. clutch and oil cooler are new including a fresh oil change. carb was rebuilt a little over a year ago. battery was replaced about 2-3 years ago. The floor pans are corroded and need patching or replacement and have attached photos. The rear swing arm cover plates are corroded and have attached a photo. I bought new ones which are included and have attached a photo. Other than that; I am aware that it needs paint job and straightening/cleaning up of the wire harness.
Included is an uninstalled set of leather bucket seats in used but overall good shape, wheel adapters for 5 bolt wheels, and other spare parts.
I lost keys to snowboard rack but locks can be replaced. I will also include a thule bike attachment. it's a really fun car to drive!
Interior is well worn with an assortment of flaws... it was well used in it's life.
Mileage is unknown as the car has had many owners in many decades.
I will through in a near new set of 44 solex dual carbs for an extra $200. They have been sitting on a shelf for about 5 years and would not rule out needing some attention as a result. I bought them of a guy who only ran them for a few weeks.
