Description

We are the 2nd owners of this beautiful Montana Bug. Very Rust-free and complete. I have restored well over a hundred VW Beetles to various extents over the past 15 years and have to say this car was one of cleanest ever. We did a golden restoration using all original and replacement german parts whenever possible with exception to some 21st Century upgrades. Title is clear and in our name. We even have the Volkswagen of Germany issued "Birth Certificate" of this vehicle stating Vin, Engine Case #, Factory color, sale point, etc... Very Cool!

Drivetrain -

Complete Rebuild of 1600 Dualport with upgrade of 87mm pistons and cylinders, Cam and Cam Lifters/Followers, pushrods and pushrod tubes, all new heater boxes and exhaust, all new intake including heads, German OE engine bearings(case never cut- less than 70k original miles), Oil cooler, Oil pump, Alternator, Coil, Single Advance Distributor with electric ignition(No more points!), Transmission nosecone, IRS side covers and driveshaft resealed, new front and rear mounts, return spring, Clutch Plate and disc, New Engine compartment tarboards,

Interior -

New Vinyl Seat upholstery with cloth insert set on foam molded front pads, custom cut foam rear padding, New door panels with plastic lining(to prevent water damage and warping), New carpet kits(matching trunk, main and rear), RetroSound replica 2-knob radio with digital display and MP3 capabilities, New Kicker 4" front speaker in dash and 2 Pioneer 6"x9" rear speakers in speaker tray, Custom wood accents (door locks, shift knob)

And more... -

Custom Color matched Seatbelts, Pop-out 1/4 windows(original but not original to this bug), New Chrome German Bumpers, Electric Windshield Washer(No longer runs on spare tire pressure), Brake pads, hoses, drums, spring kits, New Master Cylinder, New shocks and struts, ball joints, Tie-rods, electrical switches, New Insulation around heating ducts, antenna, mirror, Chrome molding kit, glove box liner, Cigarette Lighter/Power point, Turn and Tail Lenses and Lights... Too much to list!

The story(briefly) -

3 years ago I bought this Bug to restore for my wife. She already owns a restored Blue 69 VW Beetle but, being born in 1972 and entertaining the idea of the slightly bigger, stronger Super Beetle, always interested her. As the Bug got closer and closer to completion she began having strong sentimental feeling for "Herbie"(the 69). 12 years as the 3rd owner of this California Bug, 6 years past all the blood, sweat and tears of a slow costly restoration/upgrade (Freeway Flyer Transmission, Front Disc Brake Conversion, CD sound system, etc.), Herbie means a great deal to her. After restoring and breaking in the 72 she has been torn and decided to let the newer bug go!

It's new and we are slowly building it to help share our desire and love for these cars.

Plenty of pictures available of previous builds and this one. During teardown and restoration! Many colors and combinations! We are available for your restoration needs and have other shells available ready to be restored if you have a project in mind.

Serious Buyers Only Please!

Happy motoring,
