1973 Volkswagen Camper Van
Description
1973 Volkswagen Camper Van: It is in great shape but not perfect. It is 44 years old! I bought it from someone in Nevada almost 3 years ago and have just driven it a bit around town, but not really enough to keep it, so it is time for a new home. It starts and runs so smooth. I spent over $4k to have the engine rebuilt. See photos of listed parts and work done. The paint is in good shape and there are no big rust areas that I have seen. There are the expected dings and a couple small dents that I have shown in photos. The Camper top opens/closes easily. The tent material is in great shape/no tears or holes. The interior upholstery is in great shape. There is hardwood floor. Never used the sink, water holding tank or fridge so can't say if they work. I did have a couple of charging places added to keep up with the times - one on dash and one in back. So you can charge cellphones etc. The radio is original AM only. The rebuilt engine is now dual carburetor and has dual exhaust. The mechanic said the engine is now 1600 rather than factory 1400. I am not a mechanic but this gives it a little more power than the original engine. It's still slow...It's a Volkswagen Camper! But it pulls hills great. The battery is a couple years old and needed a trickle charge after winter but has held charge since then. Only mechanical things I think needs addressing is breaks sometimes make a squeaking noise, but they hold just fine. And it could use a new set of tires. There is a spare that is like new. Please email me any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Please don't try to scam or lowball me. I am not hurting for $$ and no I won't send you my bank information while you are "out at sea working "!
