Description

1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle
Was featured throughout all six seasons of "Grimm" on NBC, as the main character "Monroe"'s personal car. The car is owned by one of the crew members of the show, and is kept in a garage in Portland, OR.
The Beetle is in good running and driving condition, is started and driven a few miles weekly, and recently received a new alternator and belt. Engine runs well once warmed up (like any air cooled VW), and the transmission shifts smooth. The motor is the carbureted 1600cc, however it may have originally had the fuel injected motor since there are some loose connectors and wires on the firewall that have no purpose. The exhaust system appears original and purrs/chugs very smooth with no VW "chirping". All lights function properly, including the oil and "G" (alternator) light in the dash.
Exterior condition is good; with very straight body panels, no dents, and no concerning rust. Paint looks fairly good, but has scattered chips, light scratches, and light blemishes throughout. Rear driver-side fender was painted grey by the show's mechanics at the request of the producers, because they wanted the Beetle to look like it was in 'not-so-good' condition. All glass is very good, windows roll well. The sunroof works very well and *does not leak*. Tires are approximately 80%; the wheels were also painted the primer grey, with chrome hub caps. *Note: The Chrome hub caps and other chrome surfaces, such as the bumpers, have very light rust speckles.
Interior is in very good condition. No tears or holes, and seat vinyl is very tight and smooth. The vinyl door cards have separated slightly; and the radio is not original, but works well. A previous owner glued the radio in place, but is easily reversible. All electronics work well, "defroster" fan works with three speeds. The heater works great and gets hot, will warm the car up quick once engine is at temperature.
Title is clean and has good tags for two years. With the car being a 1974, it is not subject to emissions testing.
***To be clear: This is Beetle is not in showroom condition, and has it's fair share of flaws. However, I consider it to be in nice condition and very eye-catchy. It gets attention and compliments every time I take it for a cruise around Portland.
Proof of Grimm authenticity is available.
