Description

This is a very solid Texas 1979 Volkswagen super beetleconvertible. It has LOTS of recent work done to it!It has new2 stage dark metallic bluepaint, newwindshield and seal, New off whitedoor cards, seat covers, headliner, top padding, outer top, cables andrear wood bow, rear window seal, many new rubber parts, new running boards, fender beading, headlight rings. Dash is original. no cap on this one! The seats are the most comfortable of any vw that I have been in, I have the headrests, they were not re-installed to have the "low back" look.
The brake system has many new parts: New front brake shoes, drums, soft lines, wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new front to backhard line, andrear wheel cylinders. It has 4 new tires with less than 1 mile on them!
Engine is a1600cc universal cas, with a rebuilt carburetor, new mechanicalfuel pump, new starter, new battery, new voltage regulator, new generator, newj-tubes/custom exhaust, sounds good! The convertiblerails are extremely solid, the floors are original with the exception of the battery trey, it has been repaired with afactory style panel.I see no real rust anywhere on this car. This bug had been sitting in a storage shed for over 20 years, probably why the car is in such solid shape!
the car runs and drives, the steering is very responsive, and the tightest I have ever seen in a bug. partially because of relatively low miles, and because it has rack and pinion steering from the factory. It has been driven around the block a few times since being put back on the road, it seems to be pretty peppy for a bug!Having said all that, This is not a show car, it is nearly 40 years old, it has flaws/imperfectionsand could use some fine tuning/some more work as you would expect on an older car. for example, horn does not work, windshield wiper motor needslooking at,(its weak/slow). Brakes will need adjusting as they are not broken in yet. This car is being sold "as i, no warranty" of any kind, You are bidding to own the car, not the right of first refusal, therefore, the $500 deposit is non-refundable. You are welcome toset up a time tosee the car or ask questions and I will do my best to accommodate you.If you have no bid history, contact the seller to verify you are a real bidder, only bid what you can and will pay. Thanks for looking!
