1973 VW Bus hightop
Description
1973 vw bus, hightop. All original equipment and stock 1.7 liter engine. It has the optional factory gas heater that has not been tested. The only non stock items are an electronic fuel pump instead of the mechanical pump and an external oil cooler mounted underneath the bus for the hot Arizona temperatures. This bus was from the dry climate of Arizona and still has the original paint, however the rubber window seals do need to be replaced. The battery tray will need the rust taken care of or cover it up. The bus has brand new heavy duty 8 ply sidewall tires that are factory correct for the load ratings required. These are not passenger car tires that most people put on their buses. The transmission and engine oil were changed along with a tune up. The factory duel carburetors were hard for me to get adjusted perfectly but runs and drives on the road good. My plan was to take a road trip from California to Georgia this summer to see my brother, so he could help me change the window seals ;) I am instead going to be at the VA hospital getting medical treatment. I have handicapped plates on the bus now and will be keeping them when I sell it. They are not transferable to the new owner, however you can get new plates at the DMV or AAA. I have had many aircooled VW's in the past and to find an original bus that doesn't have all of the Chinese parts they are now producing, and one that you can stand up inside if your not over 5'10", and is not covered in rust is very difficult to find nowadays. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs so figure that expense in when you cast your bid. Or you can just drive it home if you are adventurous;)
