1969 VW Type III 3 Squareback Volkswagen Classic Driver
Description
1969 VW Type III Squareback.
I purchased the car from the original owners widow. I have the documents showing that the original owner picked the car up from the factory, drove it around Europe and had it shipped back to the states and imported through Toledo. He then saved what appears to be every receipt for everything ever done or purchased for the car.
In the early 2000’s he had a bunch of metal repair work done and the car painted. He was in the process of reassembling the car himself when he became ill and passed away. So when I purchased it, it had not run in 8 – 10 years. I went through the brake system, fuel system and sorted some electrical problems. When I got the car running, the engine seized due to clogged oil galley.
I had the case line bored and the crank turned, reassembled the engine with all new bearings, pistons & cylinders, rods, lifters, etc. and of course gaskets and seals. The heads have been rebuilt with new valves, springs etc. Carbs have been rebuilt as well.
The car also has basically a new interior including seat covers, carpets and side/door panels, as well as a new dash pad.
The car runs, drives and stops great. It is a great fun little run around. It does have fiberglass front fenders and a hand full of other things that could use attention, tires, rear hinge springs etc. but can be driven as is.
I have a clear Ohio title in my name, ready to sell. I can not provide any shipping quotes or advice, but will be happy to work with your shipper.
I require a non refundable deposit through paypal of $500 within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The balance to be paid within 10 days. I can store the car up to 3 weeks after the end of auction only.
Thanks for looking, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
