1968 Volkswagen Bus Westfalia 59,055 Miles White 1.6l Automatic
Description
Here is a running and driving 1968 VW Camper bus. The van is a Pop top with Westfalia interior. The van looks good and I recently had the van at a shop where the engine was removed, inspected and completely tuned and serviced. Master cylinder is brand new along with a few hard brake lines, fresh fluid ect. Drives great! Just drove it about 60 miles on the freeway with no problems. The exterior as you can see looks decent for a driver. From what I can see, it has been painted one time over the original white paint. The body looks decent but it has a pretty good sized dent in the nose. It has some rust in the lower rocker area on both sides but does not really go any further into the frame etc. I believe this happened because previous owner had a thick carpet and pad in the vehicle and the water bunched up in the edge areas. The left rear outer wheel well has some bubbling as well as the outer wheel well on front left. The cargo floor looks very good from underneath as well as main support beams. Jackpoints both look good as do both rear quarters, doors ect. Front floor has some rust, more on driver side passenger side as well but not as bad. See photos and video above as these will do more justice compared to what I can tell you here. Draw your own conclusions please. Interior wise, as you can see, it's original and is what it is. Dash is all there and has no cracks. Front seats look decent and are comfortable. Also steering wheel looks good with no cracks and all gauges are there. Door panels both look decent as well as rubber floor mat up front with factory sound deadner. Has Westfalia rear folding seat and cushions as well as small middle seat. Pop top is in nice condition and works very well. Sliding door works good and all door open and close fine. Has rear cushion. Mechanically, I just had the engine taken apart by VW specialist, repaired and reinstalled. In the process all systems were looked at and corrected. Clutch looks good and the transmission in great shape with no grinding or popping out or whining! Has new master cyliner and a few brake lines were replaced. Tires have good tread but are older. Gas tank is clean and fuel system in good shape. Horn works, gas gauge works, speedometer works. Brake lights work but headlights no working or signals.
