Description

This VW Camper van has 103k miles, runs and drives. I just got this vehicle out of storage. It is currently registered to 2018. I got it from storage and it had some mildew and I have been cleaning it out and getting the leaves out. I've just finished a road trip and it ran great.
I have the car available to be checked out in the Los Angeles, East Hollywood area, in case you want to see it. Message me if you want to make an appointment to see it.
The headliner it ripped towards the back door and there are some broken plastic trim pieces on the interior shell. The back door isn't opening. The title is processed and the vehicle is in my name for sale, title should be in my hand by the 10th of October. There was some mildew and mildew stains so I have been cleaning the inside with mildew/mold removers.
There are some broken pieces of plastic inside the vehicle and bumper piece missing on the right rear. It was a family vehicle, one owner. The side door sticks a bit, but opens, closes and locks. The brakes are good, switched the brake fluid and did a brake inspection, no issues. I put in fresh oil and it drives steady, no veering on rattles. There is a tow hitch to tow a light trailer with a 2 inch ball.
The pop top raises and can be propped up, needs a spring or some maintenance, again storage issues possibly and non-use issues. Paint isn't perfect, but no major accidents from what I can tell, only a few scrapes and scratches around the body. No extra accessories for camping, this is a Country Homes Camper and they are still in business in San Diego in case you need parts.
This is not a full camping rig but has the potential to be as cool as a Westfalia since it has the pop-up roof. I like it better than the angled roofs that are high on one side and low on the other. As-is, needs some cleaning and detailing. When I got fresh oil the mechanic said it has a new AC compressor, off market or rebuild. I went to a specialist mechanic and the Receiver Dryer has a corroded tip and needs to be replaced, approx $50-120 part, not counting labor. Then the system can be tested before filling it with refrigerant. I am taking this step by step in case I need to sell it and I will add the cost if I end up doing the repair and relisting this van on Craigslist or on eBay again. I replaced the air filter and cleared the loose dirt in the shell.Got new wiper blades and there is some slight rust around the front window. It shifts into all three gears and has plenty of VW power. It jerks a little in between gears at lower speeds.
This is a Great project for the right person or family. Low miles. Delivery on the West Coast for $150.
