1964 Volkswagen Beetle Sunroof ONE OF A KIND!
Description
1964 Sunroof Beetle. Older pan off restoration completed around 1998 (snow picture). Thefloor pans, heater channels were replaced. All rust repair was done on the body as well. The pan was painted with rust protectant paint and the body was painted inside and out with the factorysingle stage red paint. The paint still polishes up very nice as you can see in the pictures but does show its age up close. Around 2012 the car was transformed into what you see here. A 4" narrowed shock-less front beam was installed with 135R15 tires on the factory wheels. The rear torshen bars were re-indexed one notch on the outside spline and the factory wheels were modified to be 8" wide with factory back spacing. This is how this look is achieved with zero rubbing. All of this is bolt on and can be easily returned to stock. Around this same time the factory 6 volt electrical system was changed to 12 volt along with a brand new wiring harness. The tired 40 horse motor was changed out for a much more powerful 1600cc dual port motor. The motor has a header style exhaust, brand new distributor and carburetor. The interior is in very good shape as that was all new during the restoration as well. The headliner, however, has lost the panel covering the sunroof and there is a hole or two ripped in the headliner in a couple of spots. The tires are still pretty much brand new as I've not put very many miles on the car in the last several years. I have owned this car for over half my life and its never seen salt since I've owned it. It is currently registered in my name in Vermont. There is no title because Vermont does not provide me with one after a car is 15 years old or older. A bill of sale and my current registration will work for any state that requires a title to give you a title when you register the car. This Beetlestarts runs and drives and stops. There isn't much that will turn more heads or make more people smile. It could use a bit of love due to lack of use. It has a fairly new battery that I keep on a tender as well. It has sat under a cover and under a roof beside a garage or inside the garage. Rack and rack components are not included. If you would rather have the car with the stock suspension installed and bring your own wheels we can talk about a reduced price. Just feel free to ask questions before bidding. If you are outside the USA and/or will need to ship the car or have zero feedbackplease contact mebefore bidding. ****Please read carefully and PLEASE ask questions before bidding!**** Buyer is responsible for shipping if it needs to be shipped.
