You are bidding on a 1966 Volkswagen Bug. Every car has a history: The original owner purchased this Bug New here in California. It has always been a California car. In 1994 the car was garaged because he was no longer able to drive. I discovered this bug a few months back.
Since then I have:
Cleaned out entire full system and replaced rubber hoses
Flushed out brake fluid & replaced brake light switch
Adjusted brakes
Drained and refilled engine oil
Drain and refilled transmission
Installed new swing axel boots
Installent rear axel seal
Installed a good set of tires
Installed a new steering coupler
Installed a new shift coupler
Installed a new shift rod
This bug is in good condition for its age and can handle freeway as well as street traffic driving conditions.
The interior seat covers and headliner are original without any rips or tears. Door and quarter panels are all in good shape however the quarter panels have speakers installed in them. All of the glass and door rubber has been updated. All of the lights, including: turn signals, brake lights, tail lights, headlights, parking lights, interior light, fuel gauge light, speedometer light, high beam indicator; emergency flashers function well. As you can see in the pictures, the overall paint has a great shine to it with some imperfections on front hood and fenders. The pan is in overall great shape with the usual small patch done correctly under front passenger seat. The VW comes with the original trans axle and an upgraded 1500 single port engine that provides more torque and more horsepower than the stock 1300. Overall it is a good driver and will not take much to take it to the next level if you chose to do so. The car is available for inspection at any time during this auction. As this VW bug is also listed for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this auction early. I have the “pink slip” in hand and in my name.
