1974 Volkswagen Bus - Unrestored
Description
VW BUS PASSION NEVER DIES
When did it all start? No one knows for sure...the passionate VW bus fan base. These buses can be very ugly or very appealing depending on who is looking. One thing for sure is that this passion exists and keeps growing. The restored ones are extremely expensive but do not draw the crowds like the worst of theworst. In Florida, there are several that hit the streets daily; one is a flower store, one a sandwichshop and one appears at the beach every day with a Collie dog and its proud owner who lives in it (photo below)
Many are just fun cruisers - the one offered here has a story of its own.
This bus sat far too long before it was discovered. Apparently, the owner lost the keys and a bad case of procrastination set in. A week turned into a month, then a year, then.......that is all the information I have. If you are adventurous, you will have a lot of fun with this one.
In order to transport the bus, brand new tires were installed and the wheels freed up. It still does not have keys; this will be left for the new owner. It rolls freely and is ready to be placed ona trailer and taken to its new home. All the seats are there and in decent shape. The headliner is complete and in really good condition. The spare tire coveris there. All the side and rear glass are in very goodcondition; clear with no cracks or chips, as well as the frames. The headlights, tail lights and parking lights are there. The headlight chrome rims are in good condition. The bumpers are solid, the rear one should be straightened. The engine and transmission are all there with oil in the crankcase. Even the belts are in place.
The exhaust is still in place. Bringing this one back to life is a challenge but it is a worthwhile project.
This is a low reserve auction. I have a clear, ready to transfer title. Have fun bidding!
