1964 European Model VW Beetle Sedan Volkswagen Bug Barn Find
Description
This is a European model 1964 VW Bug. The vin is 6301818 and the engine number is 8567603. I believe that the engine is the original as it is in the correct range for a 1964 VW but cannot guarantee it. The exterior color is Panama Beige with a beige leatherette interior. It has been off the road and stored inside since 2014. It last came from Florida and prior to that it was in Louisiana. I have a clear clean Florida title. I pulled off the carburetor and cleaned it out, replaced the fan belt, spark plugs, and points. Changed the oil and it fired right up. It is running and yard driving, but it still has 2014 gas in it. I have not driven it on the road since I have not registered it. I intended to restore it but I have way too many other projects and demands on my time. Being a European model, it has a locking front hood release with the original VW supplied keys. It also has a locking engine lid with the original VW supplied keys and the ignition switch has the original keys with the key code stamped in it. Of course the speedometer is in Kilometers and it shows 93,865 which comes out to 60,005 miles. It is being sold as TMU (true mileage unknown). It appears that it has never had a radio as there are no antenna holes. It has been converted to 12 volts. It comes with an owners manual in English, spare tire, jack, and tool kit. It also has very cool looking wheel trim rings. The floors appear to be in excellent condition and may have been replaced. The following is needed for restoration: head liner, carpets, body seals (many are dried out), door panels repaired, and some body work for what appears to be two old repairs as shown in the pictures. These are the obvious needs. I would also check out the brakes (it stops in the yard) as it has been sitting, and a clutch cable adjustment. It is being sold as is, as shown. I have tried to describe the car as honestly as possible. There may be other issues that I am not aware of. A $500.00 non refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction with the balance being due five days after the close of the auction. I will accept the deposit via PayPal, but the balance must be made either by bank transfer or with cash at time of pick up. Sorry but due to the proliferation off forged bank checks I cannot accept that form of payment. I can store the car for up to two weeks inside after the close of the auction as long as the payment schedule is met. You are welcome to come and see the car before the end of the auction. I am locate 70 miles north of Boston, 15 miles from Portsmouth, NH, and 40 miles south of Portland, Maine. Thank you.
