Description

Hello, I was going to slowly restore this rig but I'm told now that I have too many. Besides I need the money due to illness which is also the truth. This van needs a few things to make it perfect but overall it's in very good turn key condition compared to many I've had and seen. At this point I wouldn't hesitate to run it across country. Canadian buyers welcomed. The 2.0 liter porche engine is strong, with compressions within tolerance, and fuel injected. MPG +/- 23 depending on your toes, optimal cruising speed is around 60. The Fuel Inj./computer wiring and the main wiring loom, fuse to tail are all new. The 6-Rib transmission is considered by most to be the strongest stock VW transmission. Would be a great daily driver. I've done a couple of thousand mile trips now and wouldn't hesitate to do more if I could. Tires are 3-4 years old and may have 8K+ miles on them. New things are a battery, points/condenser, plugs/plug wires, ignition coil, engine to body seal, fuel injection wiring harness, wiring loom from the fuse box to the engine, alternator, a used 7 pin AFM was put in because the old one quit, new air, fuel and oil filters, all fuel lines, all vacuum lines, front disc brake pads and fresh brake fluid. Rear drum brakes were inspected and found good. It needs a heater blower motor and the heating duct system put together - it's all there. It also probably needs a charcoal canister and a couple more vacuum lines to get right with emissions if that is a concern. A retired VW mechanic and I decided the mileage is likely all original based on the overall good condition of what appears to be original parts. Reminds me, 1 - CV joint boot has the typical wear crack. What appears to be the original boots will need replacing. There is the obvious seepage in the typical places in the drivetrain. Clear Idaho title. I'm 6' tall and fit nicely in the top bunk. Thanks for looking *** Note; I will connect the VW to your shipper but I will have Cash In Hand before it leaves my sight. ***
