1972 VW Camper Van
Description
1972 . Clear title.
We have owned this for 20 years. Has been off the road and in storage for 25+ years. Last inspection was 1985. Complete running vintage Volkswagen van. Mechanically very solid condition. Runs and drives good. Still a project that's rusty around the edges. Frame and floors are super solid. Some rust below windshield and around rear wheel wells. Look at pics for proof. Nothing major or structural. But....it's all there. Could realistically be on the road this summer with help from a motivated buyer. We have done much of the mechanical work. Still needs interior work and paint. I had repainted front doors and installed new weatherstrip about 10 years ago. I will eventually get to it but thought someone should enjoy the van. Engine runs great. Has a single Weber carb conversion. The original carbs needed too much work to make them operable. Inside engine compartment is cleaned, painted, and detailed. Brake system has been completely rebuilt. New shocks. Canvas and screening in pop top will need to be replaced. But, again, it is all there for patterns, etc. There is a foldable cot up there as well. Kits are available for the canvas interior. Has a sink, ice box, foldable table....seems it has all the features of a Westfalia but it does not have any stickers or name tags identifying it as such. ..Many extra parts. The only parts that are not with the van are the heater ductwork. I was not planning on even needing a heater as we were living in Texas when I was beginning restoration. Delivery possible to NorthEast and Mid-Atlantic states at a nominal fee. Winning buyer makes all arrangements for shipping of vehicle. Winning bidder agrees to $500 deposit within 24 hours of close of auction. Balance due at time of pickup. Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of close of auction unless other arrangements and terms are agreed upon. I am a reasonable seller and will work with buyer if communication is clear. Cash only. no checks. US sales only. I will not deal will overseas buyers and exchange rates or freight. If any questions. Call Dave 7one7-three 6 oh - 67nine one. Thanks
