Description

This 1976 Volkswagen Bus was first outfitted as a Riviera model with a vertical pop-top and Westphaliainterior, and was converted to a flat-top with center fabric sunroof during a refurbishment begun by itslong-term previous owner. The van was acquired by the seller in 2016 as an unfinished project and features lime green metallic paint (complete - inside and out) as well as exterior modifications, a reconfigured interior with replacement upholstery, and a rebuilt 2.0L flat-four.This VW is being offered with a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.

Along with the new paint, thenose panel, black bumpers, and exterior doors are new. Exterior modifications include a flush steel roof with a roll-up/battened Sunbrella fabric sunroof, shaved doors with electric poppers, and LEDs mounted inside the rear glass in lieu of theremoved factory tail lights.

Stock steel wheels are shod in a set of new Kumho Solus tires and wear vintage polished covers and new trim rings. The tires have less than 25 miles on them.

Replacement sport bucket seats are finished in 2-tone cloth and equipped withlap belts.A tall shift lever operates a 4-speed manual transaxle. Approximately 4,800 miles are reportedly indicated on the 5-digit odometer, with total mileage unknown.

The original driver’s seat has been mounted on a swivel just behind its original location, while the rear bench is a Westfalia Z-bed that has been reupholstered in grey fabric. A matching padded cover is fitted to the rear cargo area and the battery is located where the spare tire is usually mounted.

The 2.0-liter flat four was rebuilt under previous ownership, but did not run well until sent to Dick’s Autohaus in Centerville, Maryland by the seller. A single-carburetor conversion was recently carried out along with fluid replacements and a tune-up, and there isless than 150 miles on the motor since rebuild work was completed. She purrs like a kitten and runs strong.
