1976 Volkswagon Beetle Convertible Great Summer Ride!
Description
Submitted for your approval is my 1976 Volkswagon Beetle Convertible. Nicely done prior restoration by PO. Nice pain, excellent top,. custom white aftermarket seats with matching rear seat. The car runs and drives great with no smok, shake or funny noises.Odometer shows 11,097 miles but I have no way to verify that either way, since the car came to me "mileage exempt" on the title.Shifts well with aftermarket Hurst shifter (specifically designed for VW back in the day) Many new parts by PO including door panels, top, steering wheel, tires /wheels bumpers, weatherstripping seals etc.The PO used the Vehicle as a summer only car, so there are not a lot of miles put on since the work was done.I was told the car originated from Arizona before coming East. Since I have owned it it installed new wheel cylinders front and rea, new master cylinder, valve cover gaskets, packed front wheel bearings, oil change with zinc added, changed the fan belt and installed a new ignition switch. I wanted to make the car a reliable and enjoyable driver. The good: solid body, doors close nicely, nice driver quality paint. runs well shifts nic, after market seats are comfy and top moves well, has clear back window, and has new rubber on it. Lights work, horn works windows roll up and down, signals work speedo and gas gauge work even interior courtesy light works .Excellent tires and wheels. Floor pans are solid as can be seen in the pics. I did not give them a quickie shot of undercoating as some people do when they have something to hide, but I would undercoat if I kept the car.The car is a lot of fun to drive. The not as good: small crack at lower back corner of drivers side glass(see pic), CD player sounds good but radio reception is poor, may just be the antenna I havent looked.Heater ducts capped off by PO car comes with a plug in the lighter electric heater still unused in the box.Car also comes with a custom fitted car cover. The car runs and drives like a a 1976 VW with all its charms, quirks, etc drum brakes, manual transmission, crank up windows, etc. If you are looking for a 100% stockmuseum piece VW convertible this is NOT for you. If you want a nice soli, fun driver give it a look. I have a clean title in my name. I have tried todescribethe car to the best of my ability/knowledge . Car is sold as is/ where is with no warranty.
