Description

This is a great little car that run, drives, stops, but will still need a little bit more work. It will need some finishing touches to the interior (headliner and door panels) as well as some automotive paint.

The white paint that was sprayed back in the 70’s has been touched up from when this car was parked, but still has some patina to it. The guy I picked it up from said that he parked the car in 1974! I included the picture of the plate that was on the car)

The nose on the car was graphed at some point with the correct front from another car. Since then the car was bumped again and will still need some minor bodywork to the tire carrier, right front quarter, and edge of the hood. Nothing real serious and something that any autobody guy could handle during the paint prep.

This is a completely rust-free car that has all the rust repair done the correct way. Everything was cut out and laid back the same way things were constructed originally. The car has a 4-tab hood, bat wing steering wheel, and has H-apron in the front and rear!

The car presently has high/low headlights, running light, dash light, gen light, oil light, and wipers. The signal switch needs to be wired which will also give you the brake lights. The horn isn’t there and will need to be wired as well.

The 1956 body is sitting on a 1971 chassis with a 4.12 IRS transmission that shifts smooth through all gears and operates as it should. The car is titled as a 1971 and comes with the matching body and dash tags for the 1971. (I included a picture of the pan before the body was set).

It has a rebuilt 1600cc single-port engine, new clutch, rebuilt carburetor, and re-manufactured 12-volt generator. The engine has about 10k miles since the rebuild and has had a fresh tune-up, carburetor rebuild, fuel tap, points, condenser, plugs, and wires.

The improved suspension feels good with the car and the larger engine makes for a little easier time keeping up with traffic vs. the original 1200cc.

The car has new brake system with a new master cylinder, hard line, wheel cylinders. It also has new tires, white wall, Euro bumpers, and overriders.

This car still has the feel and look of the original vintage car, but has all of the advantages of the newer suspension!

The seats have been reupholstered with brick red and white, and there is new carpet. The original headliner is still in the car, but there aren’t any door panels.

It’s getting harder to find the 1950’s VW’s anymore!

This beautiful car wants to come home and be part of your collection!
