volkwagen bug
Description
I purchased it February of 2018 and just don't drive it as much as I thought I would.
The previous owner had it for 4 years and put a couple hundred miles on it. I put about 1k on it since then. It's given me no issues at all. It always fires up and drives like a brand new car.
The full restoration was done around 1997-2001 I believe. I have a file box full of receipts, pictures, gaskets and other stuff which will go with the car. It has been garaged since I owned it and the previous owner. The pan is as clean as the rest of the car. A couple small blemishes in the paint but nothing too horrible. One small bondo crack on the rear skirt and a spot of touch up paint on the white.
Engine wise I have the whole build sheet in that file box but the basics are it's listed as a 2005cc I believe. Dual 40 dellorto carbs. A lot of upgrades and money went into the car at the time of rebuild. It's a really quick and fun car. The odometer works and shows just under 22k miles, I got it at around 21k miles.
Heater works great, has a freeway flyer trans with a scat shifter and new front tires, rears are still in good condition. Autometer gauges and tachometer. Full painted trunk and engine tins. It could use a couple little things in the interior but overall solid.
You really get a lot of thumbs ups, heads turning and smiles. I couldn't even estimate how many people stop their day to talk to you about the car. The only issue I've had is that it's only blinkers are the grafted in semaphores and the passenger side is jammed up and I haven't felt the need to mess with it yet. I'm sure it works fine if it were adjusted correctly.
Front disk brakes, rear drums. It will come with the original front beam with the spindles and drum brakes. I also have another muffler for it other than the stinger I just feels it performes better with the stinger.
If you have any questions or want specific pictures feel free to ask. Please don't low ball like I said I don't need to sell it so if I get low offers I will probably just ignore them. It really has held up good for the past almost 2 decades. The previous owner had a lot of work done to get it in daily driver condition from brake work to carb tune up and I have all the paperwork from that as well.
A couple last minute added notes some will be Rementioned from the details above:No stereo in the carThere is a slot for single din in the glove box along with a button to activate the fog lights
I will also be giving the new owner the original front beam, drum brakes, and spare muffler
The pan/ rest of the underside is in really good condition
Heater blows hot
ragtop rolls fine
