VW WESTFALIA CAMPMOBILE BUS

Here is a quintessential example of the iconic VW Westfalia. A lifelong California Bus, it was originally purchased new at the factory under the 'Tourist Delivery Program' as designated by the UT on the M-code plate. It was previously in a long term ownership in the north Orange County area and still retains a vintage Ameoba Records sticker from its glory days. Many receipts dating to the early 90's are still with the bus as is its original manual. I have owned this amazing bus for over 3 years and have enjoyed it as a daily driver, camper and beach cruiser. Over this time I have serviced and repaired things as needed to keep it up as a reliable turn-key machine. Ball joints have been completely professionally rebuilt so it steers nice and tight. Newer front brakes. Brand new, correct tires with hardly any miles on them yet. Mostly new exterior window seals. The original Westfalia interior from 1969 is completely intact including icebox, sink, jump-seat, table, z-bed, and cabinetry, even the original rear mosquito net. Door panels, carpeting, and front seats have been re-done, all rear upholstery is original mustard vinyl and still in decent condition. Radio/cd player is aftermarket but works well. Starts first turn, drives smoothly, shifts, stops and steers all as it should. Really comfortable daily driver Westfalia for someone who wants to use it as it was intended! The engine runs tight, zippy and super smooth- always starts first turn, has always left a drop of oil when parked but has never had any issues, never overheats. The paint has been resprayed in its original Montana Red and shows well, though does has some glazing/cracks on rear driver side quarter panel if you look closely. Overall it a dry CA bus, the frame and cargo floors are solid, some rust pinholes have formed on the front floorboards under the mats as they all seem to by this age due to water betting trapped under the floor mats. Battery pan is solid but looks to have been repaired. You have to keep in mind this is a 50 year old VW, the original chrome and trim bits are just showing their natural patina. All that is easily replaceable if desired. With the skyrocketing values of these early Bay Window Westfalia's and the wide availability of parts out there these are a great usable investment in my opinion.
