This VW has been under construction for the past year. It was completely taken apart in 1995 and has been in storage since last year. It has a new floor pan, new running boards, all new wiring, new carpet with heat and sound deadening was installed, all new rubber weather stripping, new rear top wood tack strips, new windshield and gasket, new clutch & pressure plate, crank end play was set, new fuel pump, all new brake lines, hoses, wheel cylinders and new master cylinder, gas tank removed and cleaned, new fuel lines, carb rebuilt, 2 new shocks, front end rebuilt, CV shafts rebuilt, and many other new parts. Anything mechanical or electrical that needed attention was addressed, although the heater system was not used. Who needs a heater in a VW convertible anyway. The top is serviceable but not new and has a few small pinholes in it that have been patched. The wooden top bows and header are good – no rot, or rust on the metal bows. The headliner has been removed. All the lights, switches, and electrical items have been rebuilt or replaced as needed and work as they should. It has about 20-30 test miles on it since it was finished and runs and drives great. It needs a few small items, but that can be done while you are enjoying it. I was planning on installing a heavier sway bar, but never got around to it. The original is included along with many other parts and a box full of receipts. I found almost no rust on it when it was disassembled, which is very rare for old VW's. Even the heater channels have no rust. This will make a great fun, play car for shows, parades, etc. I have the original owners manual and maintenance book and clean Texas title, but it is not licensed since it was just finished. I need to make room for a new project. Any payment method other than cash must clear before it will be released. Please ask any questions you have before you bid. Buyer will be responsible for pickup or shipping. The car is located in central Texas.
