The attractive 23 window bus presented here in a two-tone Blue/White exterior was the recipient of a complete, ground up restoration that began and was completed in 2020. As a result, both the exterior and interior present in wonderful condition and the undercarriage remains spotless.
Equipped with most Samba options: white steering wheel, safari pop-out vent windshields, highly desirable front and rear roof racks (very rare lateral ladder on rear rack), ventilating side windows, eight brand new sky roof windows and a brand new sliding fabric sunroof (rain proof), the bus also features the rarer, original and highly sought after 9 passenger seating arrangement. The correct, 1500cc flat four motor was integrally rebuilt and tested and comes mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.
In 1968, newly instated DOT Safety and Smog regulations went into effect and a Volkswagen soon after introduced the "Bay Window" Series 2 Bus into the United States. Production of the 'Split Window' continued for another 8 years down in Brazil. This Bus is one of those South American made vehicles and was legally imported into

Canada and then into the USA sometime in the not too distant past.

(Until recently, the bus had spent its whole life in the winter free and dry interior of south Brazil, a paradise where automobiles just can’t rust!)
23 Window Buses are the most sought after of all Type 2 Volkswagens as they are effortlessly stylish machines appreciate by both automotive enthusiasts and the general public alike. A human hand has more fingers then there are such buses for sale in North America and this bus may very well be the best specimen available on the market.

The bus is currently in my interior garage in Montreal, Canada but will be shipped from Plattsburg in the state of New-York, one hour away from where I live. Once we agree on a method of payment and the money “clears”, I will arrange shipment, and It’ll come with all documentations necessary for you to register it in your state.

With exploding values of the t1 buses, there should be no hesitation on buying one of these head turning machines. At the end of the day, it is a smart investment that will also provide you with many fun times ahead. With nice ventilation from the safari windows and a good boost coming from the 1500cc engine, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, this fun to drive bus will actually blow your hair away. simply throw your luggage on the new roof rack and go have some happy memories with the loved ones.
