1972 Super Beetle Convertible
Description
A beautifully restored convertible with a 1641 CC engine with zero rust. CD player, w/new amp and speakers.
The restoration included:
New floor pans, new fender beading and aluminum running boards, carpet and mats, new steering wheel and ignition, engine upgrades.
New canvas top: Not the cheap vinyl replacement. The top uses its original wooden bows and not the cheap plastic replacements. New rubber seals installed.
New exterior lighting, all lenses housings and rubber are new.
Completely refreshed front and rear suspension:
New lowering (adjustable) struts and housings, new lowering springs, all new urethane bushings new rod ends, center link and idler arm with anti shimmy bronze bushing, ball joints, steering damper and lower control arm bushings.
New CV joints, rear shocks, fully adjustable spring plates, urethane bushings, half-shafts and bearings, and refurbished torsion bars, Urethane solid transmission mounts.
New brakes on all four corners to include new master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hardware, hoses and wheel bearings. New tires with less than 1000 miles on them.
Engine Upgrades:
New dual Weber 34 ICT carbs and new fuel pump and sending unit, Jacobs's electronic ignition, headers, rebuilt generator, High Performance oil pump with external filter and emergency sump, 1.25 to 1 rockers with aluminum finned EMPI valve covers, breather box and chrome accessories. After market oil pressure and temp gauges are installed to ensure peak performance. A new clutch, throw out bearing, main seals and an EMPI reverse lockout shifter have been fitted. Fuel tank has been boiled and sealed.
Additionally: new starter, battery and ignition switch, and throttle cables have been fitted as well as the bowmen tube.
The bug also comes with a tow bar kit and many extra parts, receipts and maint books.
