1979 VW Super Beetle Convertible - Only 28K Original Miles!

The Volkswagen Beetle is an iconic automobile that featured a rear-located, rear-wheel drive, air-cooled four-cylinder, boxer engine in a two-door bodywork featuring a flat front windscreen, accommodating four passengers and providing luggage storage under the front bonnet and behind the rear seat. The bodywork attached with eighteen bolts to its nearly flat chassis which featured a central structural tunnel. Front and rear suspension featured torsion bars along with front stabilizer bar – providing independent suspension at all wheels. Certain initial features were subsequently revised, including mechanical drum brakes, split-window rear windows, mechanical direction-indicators and the non-synchronized gearbox. Other features, including its distinctive overall shape, endured.

This particular 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible is an extremely well running, 2 owner, Minnesota summer car that was handed off to a family friend after the original owner had passed on. It has only 28K ORIGINAL MILES and spent most of its life running back and forth to the country club with a few trips to the cabin up north. As the photos show, it is an exceptionally clean car with mostly original paint. There is some "road rash" that was brush touched on the hood and around the headlights. (see hood photo below) It comes with a 1600cc 4 cylinder mated to a 4 speed manual transmission, and has had a full mechanical service. This original, low mileage VW shows well and runs & drives LIKE NEW! Convertible top and interior are in good condition with no rips/tears and rear window is nice and clear. No panel replacement & no accidents. Original boot cover is included.
