Description
Great daily driver - starts first time, every time - mechanically in great shape - drive anywhere!
Classic 1971 Volvo P1800E with electronic ignition and working overdrive in great every day driving condition. Mechanically this is very good all around following extensive rebuilding over the past 3 years. Major work performed includes complete exhaust system (in Feb 2017), total respray (2014), head gasket, master cylinder, shocks and brakes all around. I have listed all the work done and replacement parts below. Great B20 engine compression test with 28k miles showing on the clock, excellent brakes and tight gearbox and clutch and responsive steering. No notable fluid leaks or drips.
The interior is acceptable with nice original tan leather front seats with no tears or rips and very good, tight headliner and replacement dash caps (not even epoxied in yet). Could use a replacement driver inner door panel and carpet. All gauges work except the clock and oil pressure (I did replace the oil sensor so it's probably the gauge). All lights, radio and wipers work. Good tires and nice wheels and original radio with new antennae and custom wood based speakers.
That's all the good news - if I was to keep this car longer there are issues that would have to be addressed. Even though the car was resprayed 3 years ago the body preparation was inadequate and to do the job right now it will definitely need new inner and outer rocker panels and replacement or patching of the quarter panels, wheel well and some patching to the floor, maybe even to the chassis (I didn't dig that deep), but it is solid and straight. To make it really nice, the grill and both bumpers should be replaced or re-chromed. With the mechanicals already taken care of, every dollar now put into the body and cosmetics adds directly to the car value.
Spare wheel and tire, P1800 service manual, jack, tools, touch-up paint and some small spare parts are included.

On Mar-03-17 at 11:44:23 PST, seller added the following information:Ok - I just took the car to a good Connecticut body shop to get a better estimate of what has to be done underneath. They lifted her up for a detailed inspection and advised it needs both floor pans, front and back, some patching of the chassis and rails, and both rockers and one quarter panel need replaced. They reckoned they could do the basics starting at $5k. This is more work than I initially thought so I have cut the reserve to accommodate and sell it as-is.
