One-Owner Southern California 1967 Volvo Barn Find
Description
This 100% original California car was originally purchased in NorCal is a piece of California history. As such it has belonged to the family of well known agricultural farm. This car started its journey new in northern ca (registration available) and ended up in southern California's finest city, San Diego. It was utilized by the owner of a well known farm in Rancho Santa Fe for many-many years until he passed away, and from there it was parked where he left it for over 20 years. The vehicle was parked next to a steel barn under a tree for 20+ years.
I discovered the car one day when driving through Fairbanks Ranch as I was inquiring as to the local fruit and produce. I stopped at that stand and asked "who owns the car?" As luck would have it, the previous owners son was working the vegetable stand that day and replied "I do." Im thinking "bingo". Being an inquisitive young man as I am, I asked about the history of the vehicle and he told me it belonged to his dad and that is had been parked for over 20 years and that he hadn't thought about selling it, and if the price is right he would. Long story short, we made a deal and I took it home, and from there I made the long process of reviving the car.
To that end, the car has been thoroughly cleaned, registered, clear ca title that is back in the DMV system, however the original black plates that came with the vehicle could not be re-attached to the car because of ca dmv policy as the car fell off the records for not being registered for over 20 years. Please note the ca black plates that came with the car are not included as dmv made me "surrender them", unfortunately.
Since acquiring the car, all fluids have been replaced, carb rebuilt, rear wheel cylinders have been replace on both wheels, spark plugs and battery are all new. The car has been entirely sanitized plus installation of new carpets. It appears as though the car may have had a minor fender bender to the right rear quarter panel; however all lights work and rust in the area is minimal. Please note this car is not rust free as it does have some "cancer". The car has all its original glass and trim and unfortunately some rust to the bumpers, which adds patina to the overall look. The car is solid, drives and shifts EXTREMELY well, and certainly demands the respect. I would recommend replacing the tires as the current tires are well over 20 years old and brakes. Signals, dash lights and wipers all work.
This is a car for a true enthusiast, unmolested, and 100% original. Clean title in hand, and currently registered until Jan. 2018.
