Description

Relisted due to incorrect VIN now corrected*
All shipping costs on the lucky buyer I will be more than happy to help load the vehicle and work with a driver of the buyers choice.
My son and I purchased this 242 on Ebay about 18 months ago to restore. It arrived in very sad shape with a worn out engine, suspension and drive train. It is a factory 242 turbo, which, as you know, are getting increasingly difficult to find. I don't particularly like when a long list of items is added to an advertisement, but, this car deserves a list so, here goes.
About 160k on Chassis
Fully rebuilt B21FT (was worn and bored .040 over, custom Mahle pistons and compression raised from 7.5:1 to 8.5:1) The stock head was cracked in 4 chambers, a small coolant passage head was found, rebuilt, and mild porting and bowl work was done at a local machine ship here in Tucson. Engine has about 1000 miles on it. All accessories were replaced and a higher amp alternator was added.
This is an aw71 automatic (these millenials can't drive standard anyway) I was considering a T-5 swap but never got around to it. This would be a great candidate. Nonetheless, car shifts great and transmission was checked out by a reputable tranny shop and given the OK.
Suspension is fully rebuilt with new bushings all the way around (rubber not poly) and Bilstein HD shocks along with IPD lowering springs were added. Large IPD front and rear sway bars were added along with IPD Poly endlinks
JAO Exhaust here in Tucson built a custom 301 Stainless 3" Exhaust from the upgraded 15G turbo back and a DO88 intercooler and piping and couplers were added. A 90+ exhaust manifold has also been added.
The KJET fuel injection system was rebuilt (very difficult to find parts like a new thermal wax valve haha.) and is running very Stoich monitored by the added wideband in the factory "clock gauge port".
New calipers, rotors, and pads have been installed and work very well after spending what seemed like days bleeding the insanely impossible triangulated braking system.
Steering rack and tie rods are both also new. BBS alloys with new Michelins are also added
During the rebuild process I made an error in judgement and deleted the factory air conditioning. I was going back and forth about it and finally decided to remove it. Factory controls were left intact but all under the hood parts were removed. Yes, it was a mistake here in Tucson to do this.
The upholstery and carpet is new but, the interior plastics are really getting tired. Paint is also original but, its black and also is starting to show signs it's giving up the ghost. A flat hood conversion was done and new Hella round headlights were added as well as a flat hood grill and buckets. Hood was primered flat black as I was planning on painting the car all at once but never got around to it.
Some rust is present in the trunk and floorboards. No daylight yet, but the new owner might want to take a further look.
The car does have other cool odds and ends added is very sorted mechanically with no expense spared. I hope the new owner appreciates this cool, rare classic as much as we did.
*Pictures of car are not super current. I am posting this auction at work and will add pictures of car tomorrow 4/5/17. Including interior etc...If anything it's in better shape than the pictures above (which were taken a couple of months ago). The VIN number will also be added at that time.

First three pictures were taken 3/5/17. Remainder of pictures were taken 4/5/17. Car will sell as presented in the pictures taken 4/5/17. This is a good thing as the only differences are the addition of a 500.00 DO88 rally intercooler and very rare strut bar. Happy bidding it's a great car!

I have had quite a few questions about the missing trim on the car. I have every piece of missing "Turbo" trim that will be shipped with the car. They can be affixed without issue.
I have also been asked a lot about trades. At this point I am not interested in trades.
