Description

California Rust Free 1988 Volvo 240 GL Automatic Sedan 90,357 Miles (may become slightly higher).
  • VGC, car lived in California until 2013 (more rust free than a 240 I had from Arizona),
  • runs and drives great like a well loved Volvo should,
  • body has dings, scratches, a couple minor dents, clear coat on top starting to go and body is still very presentable, rockers, floors, butt cheeks (the usual spots) have no rust and are SOLID,
  • someone gave up on it for tires, brakes, and exhaust (tires, brakes and exhaust are replaced now),
  • all fluids/filters recently replaced: engine, transmission, rear, coolant, power steering, and brake fluids,
  • tires have 65% (+/-) tread and not dry rotted, original hubcaps,
  • blower motor, gauges and odometer work (except tachometer), power windows and locks work,
  • AC will need some work and sunroof has been silicone sealed as it does not operate,
  • updated stereo and speakers included (not tested other than it powers up-has remote and booklet so maybe you can figure it out),
  • comes with real tire spare, cover, jack and tool kit, as pictured.
As you may be able to tell from my store, I have been a big fan of the 240 series, love working on them, and supplying parts and sometimes cars to other enthusiasts. My first was a Volvo 122 Red Block many years ago. This car was to be for my bride, but she found a 240 she liked better. If it does not meet low reserve (less than part out value) it will become a keeper. I am fixing up a 240 wagon for myself to replace my trusty (Rusty underside-frame) Volvo 740 wagon with over 650,000 miles on a NON-rebuilt engine (not even a head gasket) and transmission. 5 day auction-last chance offered.

I keep getting the question "would you drive it to..." and I would be very comfortable driving it anywhere.
