1967 VOLVO 1800 S for PARTS or RESTORATION P1800 P1800S

Description

1967 Volvo 1800 S for sale. This is either a very ambitious restoration project or an excellent parts car. I purchased this car in 2007 from it's first owner. He originally picked up the car at the factory in Sweden in 1967 and then drove it to Rome where it stayed until 1999 when he and the car moved to the US. It has been off the road since 2003 and stored outside under tarps and foliage. (see photo!)
The good: per the previous owner, the car has around 49,000 miles (the title claimed 46,856 actual in 2000), overdrive, oil cooler, rebuilt generator (not installed), engine turns, and it has a title. The suspension looks good and since steering boxes are a premium with these vehicles, the claimed mileage is a real positive. The parts in the photos were removed from the car and are included. The car does roll but the brakes are frozen and the brake booster has been removed (it was full of brake fluid so needs to be rebuilt). This car is an original code 79 (pearl white).
The bad: the body is pretty rough: rust, horrible paint (looks like latex!), poor previous bodywork repair, and missing rear window. Also, the title states that it is a 1965 which is what the seller told me he thought it was. However, it really is a 1967 model and this was verified by Volvo in Sweden.
A decade ago, this would really be a parts car but with the values of restored 1800's tripling during this time frame, someone might want to try to save this one.
I have the car for sale elsewhere so may end this listing early.
