Description

Recent back surgery forces the closing of my classic car business and the sale of my vintage 444. Here's what's been done to date: New floor pans custom made and installed in front and trunk area by bumper, new clutch lever with bushings, new custom interior with sound insulation installed, new Volvo factory shocks, springs, motor mounts and transmission mount. IPD front and rear sway bars installed (now out of production). SU carbs and Bosch distributor both professionally rebuilt Summer 2017. New radiator, thermostat housing, thermostat, battery and fuel pump installed June 2018. New brake shoes installed and brake system just bled.
I have a complete scrap book on the 444 that details a bare-metal restoration done in 1992. It was repainted at that time and has been repainted one time since. A rebuilt B18 was installed in 2013 (note: I have pictures of the installation, but no records of the rebuild).
The roof rack is "period correct", however I have no idea whether it is an actual Volvo factory option part or has been fitted from another vehicle. Regardless, it looks and functions perfectly. I have the factory jack, but have never used it.
Please note...the 444 is not a show car. It's a fun daily driver and it attracts a lot of attention whenever I take it out for a ride or to local car shows. 444's and 544's in road-worthy running condition are getting rare and most/many people have never seen one. You can pick up where I left off, or simply enjoy it as the fun vintage vehicle that it is. There are still some rust areas in the lower door skins, surface spots on the fenders, the lower front area of the windshield and the edge of the trunk lid. I've tried showing this as accurately as possible in the pictures and I will update the pictures weekly. I'm selling it "as-is" / "where-is". Buyer pays for any shipping costs from my home to yours.
The 444 comes with a clear Arizona title in my name. Additional pictures and information on the car can be found on my website: www.thevintageride.com
