Super Solid Vintage 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Sedan
Description
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING PAGE BEFORE BIDDING OR BUYING.
Super solid 1994 Volvo 940 Turbo Sedan. All original body and paint except for deck lid which was repainted long before I acquired the vehicle. Engine runs strong, accelerates quick and smooth. There is a little blue smoke sometimes at start up and some black smoke out the back under full, heavy acceleration. Turbo spools quickly through all RPM ranges and transmission shifts smooth with no slipping. It is a very fun, stable car to drive. I have owned and driven this car for the past three years. I am only selling it because I purchased a 940 wagon in June. What follows is a full and fully disclosed list of functions and flaws. If you are not familiar with these vehicles, please ask any and all questions. It’s fully galvanized body is nearly rust free. Floors are rust free and solid, sunroof drains are clear and clean. The only visible rust is on the rear rocker seams and it is only surface rust due to improper past jacking/lifting. Power windows and locks all work. Sunroof opens in both positions and closes flush with roof. Wipers and both washers work. Speedometer, odometer and gauges work, fuel gauge is accurate and has low fuel warning light. All lights work including both front and rear fog lights. Rear defrost works but you have to manually shut it off. Radio and power antenna work. Radio sometimes makes a high pitch squeal noise through the speakers when car is cold. Noise goes away after about 10 minutes. Air conditioning and cruise control systems have both been removed which allows easy access to all engine components. Power drivers seat works, passenger seat is manual. Both seats have significant leather wear. A nice set of well matched, after market seat covers are included with the car. All glass is crack free. Headliner is not sagging. New timing belt and front seals at 170k. New front struts, mounts, bearings, bumpers and bellows at 170k. New sway bar bushings and end links at 180k. New power steering pump and fluid flush at 180k. Oil catch can was added at 180k to assist in relieving crankcase pressure. PCV system still uses the factory oil separator as well as a baffled, vented oil cap. Parking brake works. New crank sensor at 180k. New rear tires at 180k. Original spare tire in trunk. The images make the dark green finish look better than real life. There is clear coat wear on the hood and roof and clear coat lifting on the trunk lid. There are also assorted dents and dings but the car does display well when cleaned up as seen in the images.Known Issues:Right rear rim has a crack on the inside edge. Was sealed when new tire was installed but the rim should be replaced. Rear muffler is missing and resonator has some leaks. Not loud, just a throaty rumble, exhaust should be replaced from the cat back. Front tires are showing wear, should be replaced. There is a slight front end clunk mostly noticeable at low speed while driving over small bumps in the road. Front plastic splash pan is missing. Brake rotors were replaced at 180k but the car has sat since the beginning of June and driven very little. The rotors have a coat of surface rust and pulsate when braking. Air conditioning was removed (compressor and most underhood components), heat works great as it should. Cruise control was removed. Right steering rack rubber boot has a crack that allowed water to get in which caused a slow seal leak. All parts were dried, cleaned, greased and the rubber boot was wrapped with thin, flexible plastic wrap and sealed at the ends with zip ties. Distributor seal has a small oil leak, seal and o rings are included. Being sold as is, as described. Please feel free to ask any questions or request additional info.
