MotoeXotica is pleased to announce another iconic classic, a stunning 1973 Volvo P1800ES. It’s said that Volvo owners are some of the most meticulous and caring car owners in the world…and this example shows it!

This rare ES Volvo boasts a recent repaint by the previous owner in correct light blue metallic . Both paint and body are in fantastic condition showing only minor imperfections. The ES engine produced 125 bhp by reducing the compression ratio with a thicker head gasket, although maximum power was slightly down, the engine was less “peaky” and the car’s on-the-road performance was actually improved. Mated to the B20F fuel injected engine is an extremely rare M41 4-speed manual transmission with a Laycock overdrive. The addition of the overdrive is vital for effortless highway speed cruising. Stopping is handled by power assisted disc brakes. In addition, the 1970 model was the first 1800 with four-wheel disc brakes. These Volvo’s were built to last, in fact, a Volvo 1800s still holds the record for the highest mileage in the same vehicle with over 3 million miles in 2013!

The Light blue interior was a rare color selection for the light blue metallic exterior paint color, thus making this beautiful P1800ES even more uncommon. Remaining mostly original, the carpet, headliner and upholstery are in good condition and very presentable with some minor signs of use. The dashboard appears to be mostly original; all of the gauges are original, beautiful wood steering wheel as well as the radio and speakers, beautiful wood steering wheel. Overall this Volvo is an excellent testament to classic styling, build quality and diligent ownership, it would be a challenge to find a comparable model in this great of condition and originality. Only 8,077 examples of the ES were built in its two model years. The car comes with the original owners manuals.
