Description

This is a very stock Volvo 1800S in white pearl #79 with one respray at the time rust repair and some right rear quarter damage was addressed in the mid 80's withtypicalpractices andqualityfor the day. The hood which has hinge repair was repainted more recentlyafter an air cleaner caught fireand bubbled the paint before I bought the car in 2014. The car has 72,235 miles and drivers nice. The B18 engine runs well despite having lower compression values running in the 130's and dose use some oil. It retains the original dual SU carbs which have goodthrottle response. The transmission is a M41 4 speed with electric D-overdrive that shifts very smooth and the OD engages great. There is fender rust with the old filler on them and at other locations around the car starting to crack. There are rusty floor pan areas and their supports that will requirerestoration. I have collected some replacement body sections and aftermarket S.S. bumpers that are included along with other restoration items. The interior is Volvo black vinyl seats with no cuts and new webbing, however this car was a headrest seat optioned car originally from what I found on the options plate (308-501) The stock red carpet hasfadingand some water stains (holes in floor pans and old window seals). The upper dash pad is a very good original and the lower original pad dose have some cracking. Everything about the dash is stock still having the original working AM radio and speaker, however the temp gauge and clock have failed and although still installed an aftermarket temp gauge is clipped below the dash and being used for backup. The tac reads high and the speedometer needle started to hop and hang up when I got the car out this summer. The mileage is still working and logging. There are new break lines, wheel cylinders and many new suspension parts installed including five new tires on sandblasted painted stock rims. I'm not able to confirm how Volvo numbered engines so listing as only correct size engine and transmission drive train. There is all around good glass with the original seals working ok but it's time to renew them. All the locks and latches work with the drivers door showing signs of draggingagainstjam and can use someattention. The car is missing the original front grill. The Girling servo brake booster is bypassed and in need of a new seal kit. As the photos show there is rust andrestorationwork needed on the car and have it listed without warranty. Clean Indiana title and car's mileage is at time of listing and maybe test driven during listing period. Pick up only, shipping NOT included.
