1952 Willys m38a1 military jeep
Description
For your consideration, a pretty nice condition 1952 m38a1 army jeep for restoration, or parade use. Jeep is in pretty good shape overall...not a rust bucket....Has early fenders and hinged front grill. Also has short bumper.
Engine is all original, 24 v generator, regulator and waterproof. All original military components are present. I have not tested due to wiring being old and brittle, but it turns over fine with no unusual noises.....will attempt running it before auction end. I have extra excellent engine, if there is any issue.The.transmission and transfer case do shift fine and smoothly. Odometer which appears original, indicates 40k miles.Brakes need a master cylinder, and maybe some lines. Generally should be gone thru for safety.Leaf springs are in excellent shape, which is also rare for this model.
Body Is pretty good for the year. I have seen many worse examples that needed all floors replaced, and full of bondo...This jeep Has had a couple patches in the front floors and toolbox...not a museum quality repair, but great for a fun driver or parade/ reeinactor. NO bondo except for small repair on passengers side. Good thing is that the tub has not been all dented up off road.
No title, bill of sale only....sold as is, please email questions.
Don't miss out on parade season! Great low priced jeep for parades or just plain fun this summer...will need some work to be driveAble, but nothing beyond the scope of your average tinkerer.
Jeep needs the following parts to be road worthy...
Wiring repair or new harnessBrake master cylinder, maybe overall overhaulTiresSeat cushionsFuel system cleaning and maybe part replacement (tank has hole)Windshield glass (frame is nice shape)
Thanks
