1941 Willys Sedan
Description
Up for sale is this survivor 1941 Willys sedan. I have cut up a lot of these to help save coupes but this car is far too nice to destroy. This car reads 21,170 miles on the odometer. I can not prove or disprove this to be correct but based on the condition of the original interior, the rust free condition and how well the doors open and close, I believe it is accurate.
The car sat for a very long time. I have done a lot of work to get the old girl running, driving and stopping. I have replaced with new parts: the coil, ignition wires, sparkplugs, cap, rotor, battery, heater hoses, fan belt, all three rubber brake hoses, muffler, exhaust pipes, oil, antifreeze and head gasket. I rebuilt all four wheel cylinders, master cylinder and fuel pump. I had the original gas tank cleaned, rubberized and sealed. Everything works on this car including dash lights, dome light, head and tail lights, horn, brakes, gauges, etc. The windows crank up and down smoothly. All doors open and close with ease - no slamming to shut the doors. The fuel gauge may not be accurate though - I think it is reading low.
The only rot other than some minor surface rust that I have found is on the battery tray - there is a small rust spot. The fenders, panel below grille, hood, doors, floor etc have no rot. The car has original headlight bezels, grille and all the trim The car has an old looking repaint that has great patina. I have driven the car some on my country road but I have not ventured far. It shifts well and stops good. I think the car just needs a cleaning, new tires and after a few miles, adjust the brakes again. It does smoke some but it seams that the more I run the engine, the less it is smoking. Where else can you find a virtually unmolested Willys sedan that you can get in, drive and have some fun with. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have it listed elsewhere. Thank you. 716-622-3594
